A strong showing in the pony car division total market share means continued investment by the big 3 US manufacturers. Competition is grand and we the consumers win in the end.

The last chart does not make sense considering that the Mustangs never ceased production since 1964. Camaro did not begin production until 1967 and Challengers did not start until 1970. Camaro stopped production in 2002 and Challengers stopped sometime in the 80's. Would like to see a year by year breakdown of the three for when they were all selling within the same years.

Big boost for all of them over last year. Low gas prices and good economy clearly benefit the sports car fan.

I really like the new mustang overall, I think it will be a big hit for ford. Though if I were buying right now the 1le camaro gets my vote, other then that a Eco boost mustang sounds like an interesting proposition.

I don't think its as much from firesales as you think. They stopped building the 14s in June IIRC. My local dealers haven't had a 14 on the lot since October. (and my dealer I don't think has had any since September) I am sure some of the large boost is from it, but I don't think there was that much inventory left from 14s if they stopped building them in June.

It's nowhere near accurate, but it gives a rough idea, but Cars.com only shows just over 1,000 "New" 2014 Mustangs, and over 9,000 2015's. |

The new mustang is a commercial success right of the bat.
