I didn't ask what cost was, but I can find out what the part cost is when I see the guy.

there is 4 options for windshield in 2010-2011 camaro's they are
2010 windshield without remote start dw1813 gty
2010 windshield with remote start dw1814 gty
2011 windshield without remote start and with hud dw1877 gty
2011 windshield with remote start and hud dw1878 gty

2011 camaro's without hud are the same as the 2010 camaro windshields.
I am on the Pilkington website as we speak and there is no option for different remote start options. If there is a late 2011 option remote start then that would be a dealer part and it has not been released yet. I would bet any amount of money that your windshield is the dw1878gty. My cost through Pilkington for the dw1878 is around 400.00 if I was to replace that windshield for a cash price it would be around 525.00 or so.

I wish i would have snapped a pic of the pilkington part number, but i didnt. it was like 1901 or something. They didnt have the 1878 when the installer left the shop this AM and they showed both in the system he said. The dealer apparently asked horizontal or vertical on the remote start module. I have seen new Camaro's with this new style windshield, but it was a later year build. This new style has a smaller blackout area that is not rectangular shaped, the bottom edge is angled down in the center.

This is the other thread: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=142552

The other interesting thing? He did show me on the glass he had brought with him, that they did remove the GM emblem, and they put the Pilkington symbol in its place, just in case there was any blemish on the glass, but I didnt see any

Finally got the OEM glass installed. The first Pilkington number that they tried last week was a DW 1906 GTYN

I HAVE CALLED EVERYONE I COULD THINK OF ABOUT THIS WINDSHIELD ISSUE. THE ONLY THING THAT CAN BE HAPPENING IS THE SHOP DOI9NG YOUR GLASS BROUGHT IN THE NON REMOTE START GLASS. THERE IS ONLY 2 WINDSHIELD FOR 2010 REMOTE START AND NON REMOTE START. I ASKED ALL OF MY SUPPLIERS ABOUT A SAFETY VIEWING ISSUE, AND THERE IS NO SUCH THING. I TALKED TO MY GM GUYS WHERE I GET ALOT OF PARTS, THEY DID A SEARCH AND FOUND NO SUCH THING. (this is what i posted in the other thread about the similar issue)

IN MY OPINION THE SHOP GOT YOU THE NON REMOTE START WINDSHIELD, AND THEY WERE TRYING TO COVER THERE BUTTS.

2010 windshield without remote start dw1813 gty
2010 windshield with remote start dw1814 gty
2011 windshield without remote start and with hud dw1877 gty
2011 windshield with remote start and hud dw1878 gty
2011 (new for 2012 models) windshield non remote start with hud dw1906 gty (new windshield inventory)
2011 (new for 2012 models) windshield remote start with hud dw1905 gty (new windshield inventory)

they got the wrong part

Well, after the first try last week, I had them order the OEM GM marked glass.

It looks rigt, it's marked HUD.... but the hud is blurry if I sit in the same spot that I always do, with the HUD in the same spot.. If i sit way up straight and lean forward, the HUD is clear as it should be... what might be the issue? is it defective glass? is there too much sealant at the top of the windshield pushing it out a few degrees?

Probably not defective or to much urethane. Have you cleaned the hud itself? It is possible that when the glass was replaced they left some dirt, dust, cleaner, ect on the hud. Check that out otherwise I have no idea.

I actually cleaned the HUD while the glass was out...

before the glass was out, the hud was always in focus, didnt really matter what position you were in, or where you moved the HUD up/down. now, i have to sit straight up and lean forward into the steering wheel to get a clear image. While sitting in this position, the HUD can be moved up/down and it stays in focus. ... Also, if sitting in my normal position, if i lean to the left, it is a bit more clear, but not perfect.

it is indeed like it's not at exactly the right angle. once again, i didnt have a chance to take down what gm part number was on the glass.

nope. I was there and watched them the whole time... and i could move the seat before and not have the hud go out of focus.

I just went outside and re-cleaned the glass and the hud... no change

I guess my term 'blurry' is not right... rather i can see the ghosting/image reflecting off of both pieces of the glass sandwich. i see it at the top edge of the numbers.

I looked at the glass against the A-pillar, and I may need to compare to a new car, but the glass at the bottom is significantly lower/further in than the edge of the A-pillar than it is at the top. The top of the A-pillar and across the windshield is actually a bit above the body by a hair (the old one wasn't quite) At the bottom it is not flush with the a-pillar at all, if that makes sense.
