weak front bumper supports
So im kinda pissed off at how weak the supports for the front bumper are that connect the sides to the front fenders, its all plastic and I recently discovered that the front bumper is exactly high enough that the bumper will clear it the concrete parking stopper without making a sound but when you go to back up it will catch on the concrete parking stop and completely destroy the sides of the bumper and it no longer connects to where the fenders meet the car, anyone know if they have addressed this issue yet?

Really sorry to hear about what happened. But hmmm...I've taken the front bumper off of quite a few 5th gens and on each side there are three metal rods that screw into the frame of the car. That's what secures it. Are you talking about the Torx screws that are in the wheel well?

Im talking about this part right here where the side marker and bumper meet the fender as you can see in mine this is only attached by a plastic hole that is attached to a screw on the frame but this plastic rips like f-ing toilet paper and now it hangs out

Have you had work done on your bumper recently? There should be a 7mm bolt that goes in right there.

the bolt is still attached to the frame, if you look at where i am pulling out where the bolt is supposed to attach to the frame/fender is completely ripped off, there is nothing for the bolt to catch onto to keep it from pulling away like that.

Hmm I don't know what to tell you then. Have you taken it in to a dealer to have them look at it?
