800RWHP + owners... Do you drive your car everyday?
To all you blown or boosted owners out there making 800RWHP +. Do you drive your car everyday?
Driver that do drive everyday with their car: How is the drive? A6 or M6? I'm speculating that with a 416ci, running 61mm turbos, I'll be around the 800 - 900 RWHP. I'm also assuming that I'll have two settings, one low boost ~12lbs and the second at ~17lbs. Do you guys have the same projected setup? Or do you run all power, all the time?

I drive mine all the time.... Keep it out of boost and it's like driving a strong stocker....a really strong stocker

12 lbs right now, but we are soon to see how far the 93 lb/hr injectors will take us, adding boost until we see a drop in fuel pressure or start maxing the duty cycle beyond our limits....
Once that's determined, it's time for some racing fuel to mix with a 150 shot of nitrous... We figure this will get us in the 1200 rwhp range...

I use mine as a daily driver when I want to cruise around or go to car events or go to the track. Yes I can drive mine around max boost with no issues or lack of drivability.

I'm not pushing that much HP, but I can....I currently run 10 psi of boost for dd duties, I drive to work everyday and on weekends...I put around 12k miles a year on the car....I am planning on adding additional boost at the track soon....need to finish up some things and tune it.....

Sunday morning I drove my Vette from LA to Phx AZ 423miles and then Monday night I drove back. Round trip it averaged 71.2 mph at 21.3 mpg.
Spec: Manley Pistons: 596170C-8 Manley Rings: 46117ST-8 Manley/Granatelli 1000HP rods: 14051R-8 Granatelli Stage 3 CNC ported Cylinder heads: Granatelli Signature Series performance cam shaft – 850-16 LS3 full Travel Lifter ARP Main Studs: # 234-5608 ARP Head Studs: # 234-4317 Main Bearings:Hi Po replacements Rod Bearings:Hi Po replacements Cam Bearings:Hi Po replacements Head Gaskets: Stock Replacment Granatelli Twin Turbo kit at 12psi 808 rwhp & 814 ft/lbs So figure that is an easy 900plus at the crank. The car is as docile as stock until to lean on it. That is the beauty of turbos over most other power adders. Dr Jeckle and Mr. Hyde personality on and off boost. |
