Thinking of buying a V6
What are your first impressions of the car? Do you feel it has adequate power?Reading some posts here about the V8 clutch issues, was wondering if the sixes are experiencing the same, as I was thinking of opting for the manual trans. Thanks

SCREW THE V6 - MAN UP AND GET A 2SS LIKE MOST OF US DID!!
I have the Automatic Trans. 2SS......no problem getting up to speed or passing, etc. You only live once!!!! Enjoy life because it's too short not to.

I guess I should have assumed you had the money.....if not, enjoy the V6.
I love mine, all that power and fun, heads turning, ladies gawking, cars stopping to check it out.......One word, AWESOME!!!

I have the V6. I use it as a daily driver, (I have almost 10,000 miles on it) plenty of power for me, this car flies! Can't comment on any clutch issues as I have the automatic. I'm getting 22-23 mpg combined city and highway.

Love the V6, but I am 53 now and dont need a V8 to enjoy driving. I am amazed at the power of the V6.
If I were younger, a V8 would be sitting in the driveway though!

it comes down to this, yes if i could afford the 8 i would have gotten the 8, however i am more than satisfied with the 6, i never catch myself driving and wishing i had the the 8...

it depends on where your coming from i'm coming from a 1990 mercury mystique and i just pushed the pedal down barely boom 30mph i was like wow. yeah so if your coming from something less then v6 is awesome but if your coming from like a corvette then i think you should get the v8, but the v6 dosen't have the roar of the v8

in my opinion,
the V6 is a better solution, as a daily driver. I drive my car about 3-4 days a week, and figured that the V8 M6 was the best bet for me. But the V6 has plenty of pep. |

If you want speed... well the v6s will go better than 145. Most of us like to cruise around..... any camaro can do that. A very few seem to think it is a status symbol or a symbol of their masculinity. I have news for you..... women drive the same cars we do.

I drive a solid 60 miles a day and I got the 6. I owned a 96 Corvette LT4, and I'd say the 6 is just a hair or two slower. It really is quite an impressive machine, you still get that seat of your pants feel when you go WOT, but it's quiet and efficient when you need it to be.
Granted, if I could afford the 8 and was over 25 years old, I would've gotten it. |
