Washing mitts/towels

Is it safe to wash my microfiber wash mitt, towels, and applicator pads in the washing machine?

They make a special detergent you can purchase that won't damage them:

This stuff is good IMO

It's normally a good practice to wash towels separately from applicators as there's a chance they may not play nice with each other in a washing machine. Towels can get wrapped around the applicators and team them up. Use some Microfiber Revitalizer to clean them and keep them fluffy.

Applicators and wash mitts/pads are best washed by hand with some All Purpose Cleaner and warm water and let them air dry, face down.

For applicators I soak them in APC and water or dawn and water. Usually if they're going to sit it's a bucket of APC and water, right before cleaning dawn and hot water in the sink for 30 minutes or so, squeeze and rinse clean and they're mostly good. Even if they're discolored like some products will do understand that the applicator is not compromised.

Ok so I will probably just wash the mitt and towels and buy new applicators. I take it I should let the mitt and towels air dry? Not sure why a dryer would be bad for them.

You can either dry on low or hang dry.

Heat and fabric softener are the enemy of MF towels. If you are in a hurry to dry them, tumbling or using low heat is fine in a pinch.

However, if you use fabric softener sheets with your normal laundry, there are certain to be traces of that left in the drum of the dryer and you don't want that in your towels.

Plenty of people dry towels with no ill effects, but I occasionally field calls and emails about towels matting/not being fluffy after drying...and almost always fabric softener residue is the culprit.

Better safe than sorry IMO. Towels are a big investment and it's cheap (free) insurance to let them air dry.

I wash my towels with cold water and use the lowest heat on my machine to dry them.
I have no where to air dry them unfortunately.
Every time I leave it to dry I find random bugs stuck in the nap.

Chairs/shower rods/towel racks work well......unless you live outside and have none of those.

Dude I live in a TV box. I have no way to get a chair in here ! Lol

I guess I can build a rack and put them in my room. Protect my investment !

As mentioned above, no heat and no dryer sheets! A little plain white vinegar in the rinse cycle has worked well for me to "re-fluff" the micro fibers.
