acammer: Yes it was very quick. The thing about the MT82 trans in the 5.0's is that it is a six speed but 5th is your 1:1 gear. So like a 5speed with an overdrive added. This allowed them to have a very deep 1st gear. My car had the optional 3.73 rear gear which actually is a bit of overkill with this transmission. Made it fun though. 7300rpm came up real quick.

My 2010 2SS had the 3:45, seems to pull harder in 3rd gear. My 2014 1LE, has 3:91, obviously! It seems to pull harder in 4th. My two cents.

After driving a few days I got a bonus. My mpg is up by 1. I think it is because 6th gear is usable down to 50mph instead of 60. Where I normally would stay in 5th I can now go to 6th. I do alot of freeway driving at around 55mph. Was too slow for 6th so I would stay in 5th. Now at that speed I can go to 6th & actually save a few hundred rpm

your review is exactly like mine. these gears belong in this car. you cant get oem bushings to replace the ones you have.

The 5th gen was designed back when gas prices were skyrocketing. Everyone was rushing to get small and midsized cars to 40 mpg and sports cars to 30. As a result we ended up with a neutered gear set. It should have been 3.91s fo sho

6k rpm gets me about 120mph in 4th gear. 6th gear for highway cruising would make you nod off. I think I have been in 6th gear twice in 2 1/2 years.

The way I read it the 3.91 is BETTER in the early cars since we get the x in 1-4 gears...I believe the later models had the(M10) ver of the TR that had deeper 1-4 for the track...
