You can turn down the hissing by simply rotating the hose about 45 degrees where it connect to the fitting on each end. I know it sounds silly but hoses are not perfectly round and for some reason the pitch changes when you do this. It turned down the pitch of the hiss on mine to make it more tolerable and less noticeable.
