WAS WONDERING WHAT GM 'S FLuid is when veh is new, -is it a synthetic trans fluid.??? --I WANT TO UPGRADE MY FLUID IN MY 2010 SS, BUT NOT SURE OF WHICH ILL USE.--THINKING OF RED LINE MTL

Its AC Delco manual trans fluid from the factory. I had best results with Synchromesh.

Is thiers a synth ??

It's a semi-synthetic formula based on an older ATF (Dexron III was renamed GM MTF)
Manual Transmission Fluid (GM Part No. U.S. 88861800, in Canada 88861801)

I've found Royal Purple Synchromax to work the best for me. Tried some other brands, which didn't work so great when cold. RP was the only one I found to be noticeably better than the OE both cold and hot. I didn't try Redline though, so I can't speak to that one.

When mine was new with the OE fluid, it was a bitch notchy/grindy into 2nd/3rd when cold. With the RP it is noticeably smoother.

I used Mobil 1 full synthetic and it works great also have Hurst short shifter, seems to be smoother up thru the gears with no grind .

I went with Amsoil Torque drive synthetic....saw an immediate difference.
