Question ZL1 Brake Fluid Capacity

Curious if anyone knows the brake fluid capacity volume for the ZL1, A10 if it matters. Previous inquiries have shown 1.5L should be sufficient for the fluid swap.

However, multiple dealer visits (myself & others) have been told we need upward of 3.5L of fluid for a DOT4 service. Curious if anyone has an understanding to the discrepancy & a definitive answer on the amount of fluid required. I'd like to ensure I have enough on hand for the service next time it's needed.. Thanks in advance

A10 shouldn't matter. I did my MT with SRF several months ago. It took 1.5L.

Did you do it yourself or dealer? Any ABS pump actuation?

My experiences, my dealer last year when I just did a swap of fluid he used 1L. This year, I did the swap, along with changing out my brake lines and they used 1.5L.
Lethal Camaro posted a recent youtube video of a swap and change of brake lines and used 1.5L, that is based on the bottles appeared to be half liter bottles.

He did it himself while we drank beer and laughed at him.

Myself.

I consulted several veteran road racers and they told me not to worry about the ABS pump.

After several HPDE's in Intermediate run groups at Sebring and Barber, there are no issues with fade.

It depends if there is some air trapped inside the ABS. It happened to me so i did the first time auto bleed at the dealer. Later i bought autel mp808k to do it my self. It work like GM stuff.

Interesting. Thanks for the responses guys. I’m really curious why the dealer is requiring so much fluid to complete the job. 1.5L seemed like correct amount, this is the 2nd dealer that’s requested 3-3.5L to complete the job.

Laziness. Easier to run a crapload of fluid through it then to estimate when the new fluid is coming out vs old.

That's the one thing I do miss about old ATE Super Blue/200 swap. One was blue and one was yellow, it made it super easy to determine when you had new fluid.

Flushing SRF or other fluid that has 1,000 miles on it (even all track use) is quick a bit harder to determine.
