Congrats on the '13 SS. My story is almost exactly the same. I got my '12 SS last fall, I was 52. I also did some bolt-on's and a tune.

Daily driver is a '15 Nissan Altima. Great all weather commuter, can get 39 mpg on highway. Good all purpose family car, not performance oriented.
