Keep up the great work, see you at "the Fest" - I'm part of the VA convoy "joining in" at I95 & I 40 in NC.

April can't get here fast enough. Lori
Us younger people need some hip hop mixed in too.

Also, I forgot to add this last night - but seeing how camaro5fest is right around the corner, and us people that are going don't want to wait long for this to come out

Even though there are some artists that I don't know such as the rock and heavy metal artists, about 90% of the songs are actually copyrighted. Even though this is only meant to be distributed around here, if a song without the artist's, manager's or record producer's knowledge of the intent of redistribution on such a form of media occurs, then this will count as plagiarism. So you will have to let them know about your intent to use their songs, and as a result you will have to buy the rights to their songs.

The only way that a "movie" can use a song without having to actually buy the rights to the song, is if the movie includes a premiere of the song.

For example, the transformers movies worked with linkin park and if I'm not mistaken, the second transformers movie premiered linkin park's song "new divide", so I'm pretty sure that the movie didn't have to buy out the rights.

The best way to go around in producing something like this and to use some songs, is to go through songs that are listed as cc instead of copyrighted. cc stands for creative commons, and aren't copyrighted so you will be able to use them without paying rights to the songs or anything.

It would be best if a lawyer that works in the entertainment industry could chime in, because he or she will have a better reasoning and explain it better. I only understand this from an singer's point of view.
