The cables are are held on with a screw and at the end of each side cable is a spring bolted to the frame. The top it self is attached by pressing a z strip in a slot on the fifth bow. My dealer also asked if I would answer any questions they may have if they have to work on one. They said I did a great job on mine.

Just scheduled an appointment with my dealer to first discuss the talent of his technicians.

If they have never done it I wish you luck. I would ask them to let you watch so your car is not all dinged up. You have to remove a lot of the car to get it out. Take pics of your car before service if you cant watch.

Yeh, I hear ya. This is the dealer that left it out in the snow while waiting for parts. It had never even seen rain. I would have rather picked it up and parked it until the parts came in. Many customers were staring at my while I chewed the service manager and the owner a new blow hole.

Pretty cool. I see in the pic of the old one that is bent, that the fleece tape on the end of the aluminum extrusion is already worn off on the corner. That corner digs into the canvas when the top is down. By chance did you take the time to round off that corner before reassembly? I've been considering doing that to mine.

Can you get that aluminum frame member off without complete removal of the top and/or the water bag???

great job todd. i wish i had replaced my own top at first sign of trouble. once the dealer got hold of it and that snowball started rolling, there were dents scratches and leaks abound. had to sell her.

I actually pulled the tape of disassembling it. You have to take out the frame and the water bag. It all comes out as one assembly. Look at the picture of the back of the car. That pic shows the inside of the trunk. The square boxes you see are my two subwoofer boxes that fit under the top when down.

I got it under warranty and they gave me the whole thing. So that's what I replaced and had to return the bent one to the dealer.

They would want to pay him for three hours of labor for six hours of work.
