Exhaust Header Noise
I am thinking about installing headers and 3" exhaust on my car.
Those with headers how much louder is it inside the cabin vs stock? |

It is hard to describe how much louder it is but it is. I had them on my Z that I sold and did not have the cats on it.It was really loud when you went full throttle but I guess the best way is to say maybe it is half again as loud as it is stock?

Mine has stock exhaust but 2" Kooks LTH. It has other mods of course but to maybe give you more of an idea.

Kooks 2" no cats, rest stock (other than noweeds) I was surprised not that much different in cabin normal driving - until you step on it (or open no weeds)

There is a different sound at idle, at cruising speed it's not unacceptable. Sounds mead at wot!

The only mods I have are Roto-Fab CAI, Kooks LTH, and a Borla Atak exhaust with X pipe. In cabin is fine, can still talk on the phone with the windows up, but at WOT watch out!

It is night and day wot. you can't even hear the blower whine anymore.
at cruise it is not big deal at all. I just wired a position that forces my flaps closed at all times. this put is a bit louder than the stock fuse pull but way more livable if you don't want it to be really lound. it sounds agressive but you can actually hear a bit of blower whine again from the cabin without being just overwhelmed by exhaust noise.
