Angry Used Camaro Pricing

Why does it seem that the price for a used 2016 2SS, mag ride, dual mode, 6 speed is only increasing?? The 18s are hitting lots and it is impossible to find one below $36k even with higher mileage?! Been looking for over a year.

Supply v. demand.

Supply is constrained because:
1. Chevy cut back on production this summer.
2. People love their cars.

Supply and demand. The camaro group we are forming in ontario has discussed this with potential buyers. These options specifically are the absolutely best specs to buy and if you read through this forum you will see how many people wouldn't buy there cars without it.

Gm is watching there sales numbers and seeing the profits per sale going up because of these never before offered options being available on lower end models like the SS.

The only "good" time to buy is the introduction year, play the risk of issues and buy the intro pricing and then see everyone scramble after the reviews exceed expectations.

Agree. With nothing but positive reviews for the 6th gen and with all the best options selected - no surprise to see demand high (and so prices settling or even rising slightly) for the few cars with that specification.

Dealers are still holding out as well even on lower spec cars...

The deals that were out there are drying up. Last year was definitely the year to buy...guys were getting brand new 1SS for 32k. This year it was all I could do to find a Used 1SS for that price...I ended up finding this NFG 1SS A8 with NPP for 32k. Only had 900 miles. It was 2k under market value.

Your best bet is to buy private sale if you can. The day I went to buy my 1SS, a 2016 2SS A8 NFG popped in the classifieds locally for 34k. The caveat was, I did not really want a 2SS and I could not use a trade for tax credit purchasing private party.

Sorry, but that is not true at all. Early adopters paid more and got rewarded with issues.

Be patient, there were good deals a few months ago. I'd wait for the re-fresh, and chances are, people will be rushing to trade theirs in(flood the lots). Only drawback is you might the new model as well...lol.

I looked for a used one before I bought mine - didn't find any used ones within 3hrs of Houston that met my wants (2SS, NPP, MRC) and found very few new ones that did. I found many used and new 2SS's with NPP but not with MRC. If you forego the MRC, I think your choices go up quite a bit - at least they did when I was looking.

Keep in mind that the MSRP on 2SS with all these options was in the high 40K range, some touching 50K. So I would think mid 30's is about right.

You're also going to see used prices go way up because of the flooding in SE Texas. They're estimating over half a million cars are destroyed. That means that many need to be replaced. Used car prices all over are going to go up due to increased demand.

I found mine with less than 6000 miles on it, 2SS, NPP, MRC, Auto for just under 40. Brand new it was just under 50.
I consider that a steal.

I agree, If you want to miss out on mag ride (no idea why so many people ordering these skipped this!!) there are some options. I want the best spec'd Camaro and I simply cannot bring myself to settle for less.

We just sold a 2016 2SS Hyper blue, A8, NPP, Mag, sunroof, with 3k miles for $32,900. So you just have to look around, you can find them
