I would think it is important but I'm not sure. Does it come off with the wheel if you take the wheel off? Is it an extra lug to keep the wheel in place?

Dude!! I would not drive it like that, there is a chance you could lose that wheel going down the road... It would not be pretty...

Get it looked at ASAP....

what is this?

Is there a castle nut on the 1le hubs? Only have scene the v6 ones and they don't have one.

assuming they do and that's that that is then you have a large problem my friend. Pull that wheel off asap! Wouldn't drive it till you do

Just realized it was the rear. Axle nut it is!

Don't think the wheel will fall off, but you don't want to go driving around with it like that, also guessing you've lost your center cap now.

Since it's under warranty just call and get it towed to the nearest dealer for warranty work.

Like others said that's the nut that holds the axle in the hub from the differential.

The axle nut draws the inner and outer races of the wheel bearing together. Right now the ride may feel like you have a bad bearing.

Thx everyone. Got it towed to the dealership and going in the AM to hopefully have them fix it... Is this a quick fix or something I will need a loaner for?
