6th gen is too small. The 5th gen was small enough. 6th gen should also have a rear seat delete option...aka a Vette lol.

Agreed, I parked next to a black 6th gen ZL1 over the weekend and the only reason I noticed it was the quad exhaust tips - then I checked out the hood and saw that yeah it really was a ZL1 - I guess I should have been impressed but I thought it lacked the presence of a 5th gen.

Very good responses. If your going to buy a 6th gen, why not just buy a 13-14 ZL1 for around the same price?

In terms of performance, if it's strictly your priority, yes it's an upgrade.

It's not that the 6th gen is too small. Heck, it rides on a 110" wheelbase. That's almost 2" longer than the old "midsized" GM models from the '80's.

The severe lack of rear legroom is tied to compromises in the Alpha platform at the rear passenger H-point to rear axle centerline.

Compromises in where it relates to the rear bulkhead attachment point behind the rear seats. It is placed too far forward in the chassis eating up passenger interior room.

Maybe this was done to create more crumple space in rear end collisions, I don't know.

I still love my almost 9 year old 5th Gen Camaro. There's something very special about it.
The newer ones not so much imo.

Zoom in and you can see the goofy dropped rear shoulder line and the oddly shaped rear quarter window. Oh, and the big huge circle of a gas lid door right behind the passenger door. Blech!

Depends on budget, these are not in the same price range.

I always thought the 5th gen ss was so so looking. The 1le, zl1 and z28 were much better looking. I actually don't mind the interior at all. I like the simplistic nature and it feels a bit old school.
The 6th gen has had it's share of issues but performance wise it's clearly a step up at every level. The gen 6 ss is a way better performer all around. So is the gen 6 1le and zl1.
I love the look of the new 1le and zl1. Especially in grey.

Even though the new gen is a better preformer I still have no plans upgrading my 1le. Love that damn car!!
