Camaro SS price in 8 years?
In 8 years do you think the new Camaro will go down to about $10k like the 02's?

Depends how well it is taken care of.
On eBay, meticulously maintained early 90's camaros go for a premium. If it is a daily driver with 150k+ miles, oxidized paint, etc...then yea...it will go cheap. |

It will all depend on the condition, miles, and if there is a story behind the Camaro (Lithograph).

Absolutely it will. Especially if it keeps out selling ford crustangs. They'll be all over the goddamn place. :(

Look at the LS1's. They sold from $25k-30k and on eBay you can find them at or under $10k.

Just a guess, but I think the 2010 will hold its value a little better than the previous generation cars. I mean the "f-body" platform was years old when the 4th gen came out in '93, and was still being sold as new in '02. For a new car in 2002, the Camaro was not particularly rigid, had lots of squeaks, and the appearance was loved by some but disliked by a lot of people. Not to mention its mullet image at the time. I think if you look 10 years in the future from the 2002 Camaro and the same for the 2010 Camaro, the 2010 will have better resale value.
Besides that the 2010 costs more to start with.

I'm way too lazy to do the research right now..
But I would find out what the standard depreciation PERCENTAGE is over an 8 year periord And that will deducted that percentage from the MSRP and you will have your answer. Sure GM cars depreciate at different values- I would say it will depreciate about the same rate as a Vette (maybe a bit faster)-- so use that percentage. ________ Extreme q Last edited by jrc1122; 03-11-2011 at 10:36 PM. |

Its the same market for these cars even now, Im sure it will be reflected in future resale. No difference, maybe less if certain factors come into play like gas prices insurance rates etc. The system does not like these kinds of cars.

If you care about the resale value of something buy a house IMO.
I also believe it is foolhardy to buy a car and keep it babied/stored/off the road for the sole purpose of resale value. You miss out on a lot of fun for *maybe* some extra cash years and years later.

Automobiles are not an investment they are an expense. Unless you are buying a classic collector car, don't expect much in return. The only way the 2010 Camaro could hold a signifigant resale value in 10 years would be for GM to stop production. I don't see that happening.
