We need the car paid for before the order gets accepted for production. And it's only as good as the dealer doing the PDI and delivery.....and if there's issues with damage, etc, it can be a nightmare.

I ordered my Camaro from a dealer 1200 miles away from my local dealer
They took a $500.00 deposit to order the car and $1500.00 more when the order was pulled for production all non refundable
Then I would pay for the car when it was invoiced
If I pulled out the the car would have to be transported back to my dealer so I felt $2000 was fair
I think there are plenty of dealers that would not ask for full payment up front but they may want to make sure you can buy the car and want a credit check
Everything went very smoothly my local dealer is registering the car as part of their courtesy delivery fee they charged of $175.00 which was a great deal considering the plane tickets and gas to get the car home 1200 miles away
If you have a trade that would make it harder
The only thing I ran into is they did not want to release the car before the 6th so I had to get my selling dealer to fax a letter releasing the car
other then that it was easy no problems

You will need to find a local dealer willing to accept the courtesy delivery and ask them how much they charge some charge $0 and some $500.00
Then put your selling dealer in contact with you dealership dealer and that's about it
This is only a difficult process if the dealers want it to be or they are inexperienced with the courtesy delivery process
If you any questions please feel free to e-mail me at rbjknoyes@aol.com
I worked as a Sales manager and inventory control for a GM dealer for 18 years I only left to start my own business
Thanks
Richard

Will this work state to state?

Do you know if there are state tax fees if buying from out of state? One dealer I spoke to talked about having cars bought out of state were being taxed a penalty fee for buying out of state, is this true?

Is "drop ship" and "courtesy delivery" the same thing?

Thanks so much!

absolutely works state to state. i ordered from fl, but it is being drop-shipped (courtesy delivery, same thing) to nc...and i am paying nc sales tax. any other fees are between you and the dealer, but none are required.

Drop ship is from factory to my local dealer right. There shouldnt be an additional shipping fee, right? The closest continent is 2000+ miles away.
