End of misery: Just bought a '14 SS 1LE AGM at 6.4K miles!
As some of you already know, I have ordered a black 2015 SS RS 1LE in late June, and have been waiting for its delivery. Unfortunately, I have had the worst dealer experience I've ever had in my life. Read on: The car was finally to be delivered to the dealer on this last Friday, and I stopped by and cut a deal on Wednesday. After tolerating a very rude talk with threats (that they can withold my deposit if I don't buy it) from the sales manager and another salesman, we finally made a deal.
Now comes even more fun! I got a voicemail from the dealer on Friday morning (the pickup day). The salesman I ordered the car from stated they will not sell me the car for the agreed price since they would lose money (even though the other dealer 10 miles south gave a better deal to another forum member for a similar car), and that they are not selling me the car! Yes, they decided to not sell me the car I ordered. I immediately started searching for an available car, and to my luck, found one in a few minutes! I picked up my deposit check back from the awful local dealer, and went and picked up my 1LE the next day! I worked with Kendall Ford, and the experience was excellent. Actually, they were the best dealer I've ever worked with; talk about contrast from one day to another. The car has a louder aftermarket exhaust which they were not aware of. When I stated I would much rather get the stock exhaust, they found the original owner, and arranged for picking up the original muffler from him with one of their shuttles, after which they will ship me next week. I talked too long, here is what I picked up: I've been very busy collecting parts in the last 2 months, and I was able to collect the following. Looking forward to installing them all and seeing how it will impact the drive! Engine / Powertrain TSP 304 LT Headers with 3" X Pipe (Catted) DEI heat wraps / coil boots (?) Coating. Diablosport Intune w/ custom tune from FSP DeWitts radiator Interior Schroth Racing RallyE 3 ASM Handling BC Racing ER 8kg/12kg coilovers; track-biased-valving. I ended up saving $4000 over the deal they didn't like. Indeed, sometimes things work out for the better!

Some dealers really do suck.
And that is why I hope Tesla succeeds in establishing country wide a new way to sell a car. By getting rid of franchise dealers. Enough of this crap they have had a monopoly on. Time is now for fair and decent customer service. The time is now that new car salesmen learn that the customer comes first. Not the other way around. |

Congrats on your purchase. Why not mention the name of the dealer that screwed you over so other members can avoid the same experience?

It is the Lee Johnson Chevrolet in Kirkland, WA. I'll for sure avoid it myself.
