HogsFan 2015 2SS 1LE build thread.

Hello all. New member here. I guess now is as good a time as any to start a build thread.

Several years ago I was really into the car scene. Owning several novas and doing a lot of street rodding and drag racing.
When my wife and I started having kids, I had to squash all of that for awhile, get my finances in order, and be a responsible parent.

Well, the mod bug has bit me once again and for the past 14 months I've been driving a 2015 Subaru WRX which was supposed to be my compromise between practical and sporty. It was a really fun car, and I modded it as far as I could without changing internals and turbo and had a good time with it. It was an enjoyable car, with 4 doors and decent fuel mileage and fit the bill for a daily driver.

However, right after I bought my WRX, a week after to be exact, my brother picked up a 2015 1LE. After spending some time in that car it really made me want one, and for the past 6 months or so I've had some serious 1L Envy

This was his 1LE and my WRX the first week we bought them, and the second picture is my WRX right before I traded it in.

Anyway, I just turned 40 and I guess it was as good a time as any to buy a midlife crisis car. Can I get an

I've got a buddy who is a salesman at my local Chevy dealership and he had a 2015 1 LE on the lot for the past several months that he has been pushing for me to buy. No idea why, but they were struggling to sell it. I hesitated initially because I had planned to hold off until 2017 and maybe get a 17 1LE, but last week I had a change of heart and he made me a hell of a deal.

I had driven the WRX from December 2014 until February 2016 and I had logged 31,000 miles on it. I bought it new for $25,800 and my buddy offered me $22,000 trade in if I would get the 1LE. Also he let me keep all of the aftermarket parts that I had on it so I could sell them and and gave me time to put the WRX back to stock before I traded. I thought that was 1 hell of a deal so I jumped on it. My wife. Not so happy.

So anyway, here is my new baby which has brought me back into the Chevy game once more.

It's a 2015, with a 2SS/RS 1 LE package and dual mode exhaust. The car is brand new and I have put about 900 miles on it give or take already.

Me and My brother

So anyway, I'm not sure where this build is going, but I know where it's starting. I've already picked up a few 1LE emblems for the fenders and trunk, a z28 spoiler, and a spare set of Z28 wheels and tires from a long time forum member here so I don't have to run these F1's all the time.

I will install all of that stuff soon, and I hope get a supercharger for it before long. After that, I really have no idea what I'm going to do to it. We shall see.

Oh, and hash marks. I did install those. Not sure if I'm going to keep them or not because they have a gloss to them for some reason. But they are on.

First mods installed.
- z28 style spoiler.
- 1LE emblems
- splash guards
- z28 wheels with nitto NT05 tires

I put 1000 miles on the car so far, and I immediately knew that the factory F1's were going to have to be set aside for a rainy day.
So, I got lucky and someone linked me to a sale post on facebook, where a camaro5 member "Dropspeed" had z28 wheels and Nitto tires for sale. I snatched them up.

Very nice upgrade on the wheels.

If I owned a 1LE, this would have been my 1st mod.

I love your ride...and all the upgrades so far! I have to say, I still love the stock 1LE wheels vs. z28 wheels...

But that is just me and not withstanding...you have an outstanding Camaro....

Thank you. I love the zl1/1le wheels too, probably equally honestly, I just can't run the F1's all the time if you know what I mean.

I suspect this summer I will do plenty of swapping back and forth

How far do the z28 wheels stick out without the flares on there? The front looks like it has a good .5-.75 inches poking out

I'd say .5 for sure but I haven't actually measured it. It's a little annoying but doesn't really look too bad in person

Very nice stable of cars and assortment of wheels. I had the replica ZL1 wheels on my 2010 but saw the XO Verona wheels and had to have them. A little different and I think they look very nice on my car. Put 315's in rear on 11 and 275 on 10.5 for front. rides real good. Keep posting pics of both as they look great!

Well it's taken a full year. But things are beginning to roll.
I have the stock wheel tire setup, and now a straight line wheel tire setup.

Also have my car at my tuners this week. Getting the following done.
- Kooks 1 7/8 Catless Headers
- GM Performance CNC Ported Heads installed with .660 BTR spring kit, tit retainers and trunion upgrade
- BTR Stage 4 cam
