Don't buy wheels without consulting knowledgeable supplier, like Tire Rack, for example. |

Tire rack would be the best bet to answer all of those questions, plus they have a nice database of wheels to choose from that will fit the Camaro without any problems. But take the time to look around here and also on tire rack to have all your questions answered.

Another thing you can do is go ahead and get a different set of rims and tires and some places will actually store them for you if you have them take the tires off and on.

Great advice. Thanks Splitter and all! A huge help.....But I don't know what "offset" means.

Offset is a measurement of how far the mounting point of the wheel is from dead-center of the actual wheel. The wheel rim (and tire) can be moved inwards or outwards depending on the offset, either positive or negative. Few wheels have no offset.

How do the continental dsw handle when driven hard? I'm not talking track but rather more aggressive street driving? Would they be significantly worse in the corners?m

OP. i live in Kansas city. I have a 2LT NON RS. i specifically chose a non RS as the 19s have all season tires, while the RS has summer only. no dealer would switch them out. be that as it may, that is too late for you. If you are smart, you need to get proper tires for your car so you will not be a hazard to yourself or anyone else. I heard the Blizzicks are good from folks. good luck, be careful, welcome to the fourm and congrats on the new maro!

Ok all thanks for all the input! Here is what I want to do, and have a couple questions about how to go about doing this.
I want to get rid of my factory wheels and the Pirelli P-Zero tires. I want to go with the Continental Extreme All-Weather tires and I want black rims. 1. Current wheels are 20", and obviously I know the exact size of the current front and rear tires. I plan on staying with 20" wheels, so does any new tire have to match the exact tire specs on the tire placard on the drivers door jamb? I want to keep this simple! So I assume a mere "keep them the same " is adequate. 2. If I get aftermarket black wheels and tires, (but same specs as current except good for year round driving), does that screw up the tire pressure sensors? (I don't know how the sensors connect to the tires and if it matters what kind of wheels/tires I use). I will ask this question separately in the forum also. Thanks!!!!!!!! |

21" pzeros with 14k miles, driven in rain, a few inches of snow, temps down in the single digits....not sure what people are complaining about. I have 3/4 tread left too.

But frankly, you will be hard pressed to duplicate the quality of OEM wheels when buying after market. I have one after market wheel as a spare, and it is a POS compared to the OEM wheel. Painting the OEM wheels might be a better option, if you have your heart set on black. |

Portland Oregon area here checking in. The P zeros are fine in the rain above freezing, we get tons of rain here. They are ok below freezing and dry but I'm not gonna lie, they get hard and aren't great. No experience yet with snow and ice so I won't comment.

I've got the p-zero's for summer and a 17" snow tire and wheel package for winter. Best of both worlds. Plus switching between two sets mean not having to buy new tires as often.
