No Blower Whine... Why?
I've noticed with all the new SC there isn't any "old school" whine anymore.
I personally like the whine noise.. . and is wondering why there isn't any whine on the new ones. . . I've heard 3 different kinds. Maggie Pax. Whipple they are dead quite compared to the older styles. . . I'm guessing with new technology and components the whine will be something of the past... thoughts? Or better yet, solid info on this.

Procharger has that awesome sound, I wish the others did, because I love the way the maggie and whipple look, but I want to hear that loud whine when I Supercharge mine.

They are more effeciant now than they used to be. The old heat blowers like the roots 8-71's, ect. used to whine at idle, now you don't hear the TVS that much even when you kick it in the gutts. I think the sound came from air being pushed around at supersonic speeds and heated up.
Screws make a nice bit of noise they compress air differently than roots. Centrifugals have more of a whisle than a whine.

You want whine? Get a cog driver blower.
I personally got the "helical" gearcut option with my procharger which has eliminated the whine almost completely. I'd much rather have a turbo spool anyways, but I'm very happy with my blower. |

I would suggest YouTubing for Cog drive TVS2300's...
We can run the cog drive rear pulleys easily. And they sound AMAZING! |

Put on a KenneBell they still have quit a bit a whine. The automatics have more whine than the manual cars at lower speeds but the KB will scream at high RPM's.
The old school blowers whine came mostly from the big COG belt. I did a COG belt setup onetime on my 2003 Cobra and it tore the crap out of the idlers and idler pulleys. I was told that there needs to be a certain amount of slip on the belt at coast down. |

it's the belt drive that makes the noise..
as others have stated, put a cog belt drive on and enjoy the noise... |

Can you pm some info on this please. I didn't know this was an option. I hate the fact that my TVS 2300 sounds like a stock camaro. Every time at tech or in the track lot I get asked if it'll run 13's!! I just oblige and nod and then crank out some low 10's and get their heads shaking. But I would be all over the rear cog ASAP.. Thanks Jes. |

I did not know this, so what your saying is that a magnacharger can be as loud as a procharger, I definitely like the look of the magnacharger better and then I can keep my ADM cai.

There is a differance between the actual S/C noise and gear noise. Like I said before the noise came from the SC not the belt my GEN V S/C is louder than a TVS because of effecancy both being drivin by a ribbed belt Not everybody run S/C with cog belts.
People add cog drives on their S/C to reduce slippage the effect is noise. Spending the extra money on a cog drive just for the noise is up to you. Screw S/C's seem to have more whine than most.
