E-force painted engine covers! - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

I decided to paint the engine covers that came with the E-force since my car is IOM and everything under the hood is black it looked a little bland. So I taped off the "supercharged" parts and coated them with 2 coats of primer and 2 coats of paint. The paint is a little brighter orange but they still look pretty good over the standard black covers.

I didnt paint the middle cover of the supercharger I figured it would be way to much orange and look kind of overdone. Total cost was about 15 bucks between the high temp paint and tape / razorblades. Took about an hour and a half the longest part was cutting each letter out for the supercharged.

Looks good but I still don't like the e force cover would rather see the supercharger with fuel rail covers

I like that as well. Had the same idea but need to find some RJT or close to it high temp paint. Anyone have any suggestions for the paint? Tried the dealer but they said they couldn't do it. Would high temp paint even be needed I wonder?

I dont think high temp paint is really needed, I used plastikote engine paint some of you might notice the color is "chevy orange" for the old engine blocks. Its rated to 500 degrees and I'm willing to bet the covers themselves dont get over 150 degrees tops. Just my .02

Nice, I went with powder coating on mine. The issue is the engine bay isnt clear coated so its hard to get a nice match.

So I ended up going gloss black with orange accents and used a orange without metalics to match the flat color better
