Welcome to the Iowa section. You'll have to post some pic once you get the 1le. Many of us will post upcoming events here. Lots of times we will all meet up at a gas station or where ever and then convoy on out to a show. Pretty good times. Also, we have a Facebook page you may want to check out also. JJKJ, you are getting close to having your car. 4300 status. I think I had my car about a week or two after that. I see you have a 79 T/A. Awesome, another 5th gen Camaro and 2nd gen Fbody lover.

Welcome JJKJ...you have found the right crowd! I am into the shiny cars, HRD_WRK has the Shiny and drag racing thing down, and many of the guys run autocross.

Thanks for the welcome guys. I enjoy all aspects of the car scene so I look forward to participating in many of the upcoming events.

BenningJ--My wait has been very frustrating so far. I've been stuck between 4300 status and "bayed" at the factory for several weeks. My car was actually built on 1/25 and still sitting in Oshawa with many other 1LE and ZL1s. I guess GM sent out a bulletin saying that the cars can't be moved below 20 deg F or the tires can crack, so there are a bunch of us waiting on 1LEs and ZL1s that were built over the last 30-60 days. I'm hoping for warmer weather!

Ah, makes sense. I considered getting a 1LE when I ordered my '13 SS. After much consideration, I decided against it. I drive my car year round so obviously I would need to get different tires. The size used on the 1LE would have been too expensive to find in a winter tire. Not to mention the roads here in Cedar Falls and Waterloo are horrible. I just couldn't see myself paying $1800 every six months on tires due to the softer compound.

However, trust me when I say this, you will love the car once you get it. They are neat.

Hey guys, I don't get on much but though I would drop in a say Hi. I am getting ready to travel the next 4 weeks to FL, TX and AZ so I will be missing my ride. Hopefully it will get nice so I can go to an event with you all. This new job is a killer of any free time I used to have :( .
