New ACT Twin Disk Clutch "Shudder"
Guys, I picked up my car from the shop today after they installed a new ACT twin disk clutch. The clutch pedal feels good, but I've got some serious shuddering, particularly when starting easily from a stop or down shifting.
The shop says the chatter should smooth out some but may not disappear completely. This clutch has the street disks (Model# T1S-G01), so it's supposed to have good drivability. I sure hope this shudder clears up, there's no way I can live with the car jerking around when driving normally. Last edited by GrinderSS; 10-16-2010 at 08:13 AM. |

I don't have the ACT clutch, but my (street version) twin disc does shudder. It's noticeably getting better the more I drive it. The instructions stated it would take several hundred miles.

My ACT twin had zero shutter or chatter when I installed it new. Sounds like something is off.
