Hey butch, I don't have them yet, but I've been doing my research and everyone who has them loves them. As soon as I get my tune figured out I'll be ordering a set!

Hey Butch:
Are you doing the work yourself? If not, get a good price and work with your installer that will be doing the work. Don't cut him out. Also, you will need a tune for two reasons - one to get the most out of the upgrade and two to keep from getting CELs. I've made that mistake and it makes it awkward when you want your installer to do more mods... and trust me, you will Hey LCP - you don't want to tune until after you get them. Why do it twice??? I highly recommend the cats... there is much evidence that Cat/Catless is like only a 2-3 HP difference. The obnoxious smell of catless is more than most can deal with long term. Use those of us that have been there. Any piles of poo that you do not have to step in, because we have already done it, is less you have to go through yourself!! Hope that helps, Sammy

What is this catless smell everyone complains about? I mean, I know what it smells like, but the entire time I ran catless, I got a wiff of it maybe............3-4 times? Wasn't like overpowering or anything either.

I recently installed these headers. The fitment is great, instalation was a breeze. I highly recommend them. I would not pay for the price of others that are 3 to 4 times more. With the $$$ you save you can get more goodies.. im running speed engineering headers, off road pipes, and corsa sport exhaust and man does it sound good. The smell of no cats was bad at first but now that i got it tuned its not bad

PostNup, I have the SCT4 I got from DynoSteve so my tunes are free...
Right now I am running the canned tune from the SCT4 but I'm having an issue getting the stock tune file out of it. Once I get all that stuff figured out I'll be buying the VMAX Throttle body and Speed Engineering headers and then getting a new tune. |

Butch get the Speed Engineering headers. I just installed mine about a week ago in my garage on jackstands with no issues and fitment is great. If you go catless get SCT X4 from RDP and have DynoSteve tune it for you, the car will be a different animal. If you decide to go with cats Pypes make some that are slip fit and look identical to Speed Engineering catless pipes that you can get on Autoanything.Com for 141.00 each plus whatever discount they run at the time.

Thats one thing that shold be done to any headers is wrap them or ceramic coat them. To keep the temps down.

Butch, can you do the job with the car on ramps? What was the hardest part of the install?

Speed Engineering is a great choice, no issues here at all. I used TSP HFCs on mine and they fit perfect, I got them used from a seller on here.
