Rear window separating. Anyone have this?

Got my car out yesterday to polish it up real nice. I noticed some waterspots/streaks on the inside the back window. Seemed odd, but after a closer look, the back window is starting to pull away from the trim and there is a small gap between the surrounding trim and edge of the window glass. Was wondering if anyone else has this issue. Mine is a 1400 mile car that is rarely driven, always garaged with the top up. I know this issue will only get worse over time. I guess I am due for a new top now. The rub mark that I have on the passenger side is tolerable, but not a rub mark and a window pulling away.

welcome to the top replacement club... atleast from what ive been reading, it looks like the newest design out by gm looks promising. when you bring it in, demand to have a GM specialist install it, or your begging for future problems.

Is it separating on the inside of the glass or outside? I had this happen on the inside and the dealer simply ziplocked it back in.

If there's water in the rain bag when you park the car, condensation will form on the inside of the rear window. This will leave water spots and/or streaks. When I picked up my car at the dealer, the rear window looked like a glass shower door...totally fogged up on the inside.

As for the glass pulling away from the top, I hope evlar is right - just "press 'n seal" it back into place. Somehow, that sounds too good to be true.

mine is separating at the top inside part of the "headliner", for a lack of a better word. Ive called the dealer twice so far, and they havent called back yet.

My top was replaced in May, Ive been back to the dealer 6 times because of the top, on the other side of town. Ive spent 400 dollars of my own money in gas driving back and forth.(and yes, im keeping track of it). Ive take 2 days off from work to get the car in and out on their schedule, because they outsourced it to a trim shop.

Ok I have had enough of the GM BS! Just fix the damn tops on the line. There has been a problem for 2 fricken years. Just get it right and quit jacking all of the owners around. It that really so much to ask? You spend 40 grand on a car and don't expect problems right off the bat within the first year.
Rant over

All the windows are glass. There was no provision designed in it if the glass breaks. If it does, a new top is required per the installer of the top on my old car. I would accept nothing less as you will only have problems if they try to stitch it back in.

I took a pic so you can get a feel for what it's doing. And no it is not condensation. I know the difference. This car has never seen a raindrop btw. Just an occasional wash. The water trail on the inside is akin to leaving your window cracked and a small amount of your water spray entering thru that crack and running down the inside. I can literally take something small like a popsicle stick and slide it between the glass and the trim channel that it pulled out of. Granted it's small for now, but I can only see it pulling further apart untill the whole top of the window drops out of that channel. I assume it could be put back, but what would keep it in place a second time around. If it pulled out once, I would think it would do it again. It doesn't appear to have been glued from the factory--just press-fit into that channel.

Can you tell the difference between glass and plastic?

(1.) I didn't get from your post that you saw the window actually leaking; that's why I suspected it might be condensation.
(2.) evlar says his dealer just "ziplocked it back in" the channel.

I am sorry to hear of the concern you are having. If you would like me to contact your dealership for more information, please send me your first and last name, address, phone number, VIN, mileage and involved dealership.

I look forward to your response.
