New SS pricing
Hello! First time poster here. I am looking at purchasing a new Camaro and was looking for some advice. Was going to go down to test drive at a local dealer and they have two SS's in stock.
One is 1SS with manual with dual mode exhaust and a couple of other options. MSRP is 39935.00 - they are advertising 36,600 on their website. Second one is 2SS auto trans and also dual mode exhaust and fairly well optioned. MSRP is 47690.00 - they are advertising 43,800 on their website. What is a reasonable starting offer on these cars? I prefer to make an offer and negotiate up but I don't want to insult them, I realize they need to make a profit on the sale. This car will be a daily driver and I am fine with not many options. I have a short commute (25 miles round trip) and not a lot of stop and go traffic. I did want to drive both a manual and an auto just because. I am in Central Arkansas and it seems the SS's that are in stock seem to stay around a while. Also to take advance of the Mustang conquest offer does a family member count? (daughter has a mustang) I am looking forward to having a Camaro again thanks in advance for any help and suggestions. |

For the Conquest rebate the Mustang just has to be registered at the same address, it doesn't matter who owns it. From what people have been saying it looks like around 15% minus any rebates is a good deal.

I got ~10% off when ordering my car and didn't haggle, I understand the dealership hardly makes a buck on new car sales.
(Went with my own financing and they politely asked if they may try to beat it, which they did, and I accepted when they also sweetened their original offer to -10%. What I may have sacrificed in initial costs I have made back a million times in goodwill with their service department. Relationships matter to me and I believe in being a gentleman instead of treating them as a "stealership".)
