yes fine, but they are getting obnoxious.. DRL not withstanding, it is becoming overkill IMO.

DRL's have never proven to be effective:

and now with all those LEDs they are distracting..

MBZ S-Class has 4 strips on either side, Audi is just sick with theirs, VW, Porsche, BMW (who started it all with Halos).. Etc.

when everyone has them, they cease to be useful as a saftey device. Take the high stop brake light, does anyone even notice them anymore? no because every one has them.

The use of LEDs for lighting is fine, but having them all over the car for decorative purposes is just annoying and played out.

Everyone has a CHMSL because I'm pretty sure they're required by federal law...

around where I live, yes I notice the third brake light because people towing trailers tend not to notice that their trailer brake lights don't work. Additionally, when safety devices become uniform people do notice when they AREN'T present which makes them effective. You notice when they're there (subconsciously) and then when they're not there (consciously) just like it was when DRLs first came to the market I would say "why is that douche driving with his headlights on" then it became "man that car is hard to see without his lights on, he should turn them on" that doesn't mean I don't notice them any less than before.

Additionally the third brake light can compensate for when someone's tail lamps are out or malfunctioning..I don't understand how some tail lamps both go out but then the 3rd light is the only thing you have.

yes I am aware they are required by law.

back in 1985 they weren't a dozen car manufacturers put them on their cars and people noticed them, and the fed thought "oh gee these help reduce rear end collisions"

3 years later they were "required" and they are now invisible, since everyone has them, no one notices them and they have been proven to be ineffective.

same with DRL's 10 years ago a couple of manufacturers had them, someone said "oh look they help reduce head on collisions" so now everyone has them and once again then blend into the sea of cars and no one notices them, and line Center High Stop Brake Lights, they have been proven to be ineffective.

I just came back from a trip where I rented a CTS and LOVED every bit of it.

This new car is bigger. It's gorgeous. But it looks way too big. I guess that's why we have the ATS now.

really getting sick of seeing them..

Especially when you can see each and every LED as a point of light... it's so 2005.

Finally a design that appeals to me more than the all new 1979 Eldorado did in 1978.

Well I think it's safe to say based on the length of that hood it will have a v8 some along the model lines. Although I must say I feel like the cts has strayedsawsy from sporty and moved further towards classy which isn't a bad thing it's just not what I expected. I like think with its mature styling and twin turbo engine it's going to sell well.

I notice 2 types of grill colors in those pics. One has chrome accents and the other is black with chrome around the edges only. I prefer the black grill.

If this is the base CTS, I really need to see the CTS-V version!
