Not to throw you in another direction but I had a weak electric fuel pump once and it would shut the car down. A few minutes later the fuel pump would cool and the car would start up and off I would go.

i replaced my ignition coil and module and thermostat and it's still doing it , i think it's the distributor

doesnt have a whole lot to do with temperature.......
im thinking water pump seizes. i had that problem. replaced the pump. tensioner pulley. and all the coolant hoses. and then continued to beat the hell outa it. and it was just fine. at 180k miles

but is it still overheating?
is it throwing off any codes? even if not lit up, it may have residual codes "hiding" autozone and orielys will test it free.

which is the problem here. i thought it was overheating? if its not sparking off, thats not going to cause it to overheat.
Checklist- Thermostat WATER PUMP!!!!!!!!!! Radiator Hoses Pulleys all move freeley?
