I'm fairly certain a stock SS would smoke a V6 Camaro

2013 Shelby GT500, 2009 Porsche Turbo S, Audi S4/S5, 2013 ZL1, 2010 C6 Grand Sport.

Note: I did not race my car stock and these were won with my current setup (bolt-ons, suspension, 3.91 gears).

However, I mention these cars only because of driver skill and not the car (most of the cars should have destroyed me). In theory, a stock SS could beat almost any car IF the driver lacks the skill. The Porsche driver in particular took the loss pretty hard but it was obvious he had never driven past the speed limits.

I can believe everything but the Turbo S. My friends S in my Sig with the AWD and PDK walks on everything on the street. High 10's and sub 3 second 0-60mph on street tires! That must of been the worst driver ever.

I dunno about the worse driver but his 1/4 was 19 and change. Wish I had the slip still or the gf had taken a pic in the bleachers. Driver wasn't very sociable and after his one run, just left the strip. Like I said, most of the cars I listed should have beaten me. Only been racing this since early summer but I REALLY like doing it. Driver mods are a huge factor.

Just because someone beat a car in a race doesn't mean that they beat the actual car or that their car is truly faster than the other. When I street raced a lot with my 4th gen Z28 I beat numerous Vettes mod for mod. I assure you that it wasn't because I had the faster car. The easiest way to know the true potential of a said car is to look at the best legit 1/4 times stock and then compare those to the best 1/4 times of said other cars. For instance you have the L99 beating the LS3 and vice versa. Well, stock for stock with a perfect driver in both cars on the same track and same time the LS3 is the faster car.

^^^^This this this

I am not an expert by any stretch. After I would finish I would watch the cars I won against as they raced against others. I most cases they would just spin out and continue to skid down the raceway until hooking way way late and by then the other car was halfway down the track. During the cool off's I spoke to a couple of them and they were actually angry at their cars (one guy actually thought someone at the dealership swapped out his motor with a V6, the ZL1 guy).

By comparison, I lost to a slightly modded Mini Cooper but the driver could race. What did I do? Went over to him and asked for pointers on how to improve me own budding skills.

Egos need to be left at the gate but it is hard for some.

track LS3, straight line, L99 (most of the time anyways).

I'm only putting reasonably fast cars on the list please do not post cars that the camaro would OBVIOUSLY beat like a prius

Of course its about the driver and getting the most out of your car.

Like the guy who beat the Porsche said it is usually some douche with a fast car that thinks drag racing requires no skill.
