Oh, and we looked at LV for Fest 2. They wanted waaaay too much money. WHo knows, though. Maybe they know we're serious now and they'll be more willing to work with us? Maybe we could make it work later? I'd LOVE to go to LV for a week! That would be AWESOME!
Oh, I wasn't meaning for fest to be a part of super Chevy, I meant take their place. Lol. Looks like they won't be coming back to Vegas. I'm sure they lost a ton of money.

Im one of those people that don't care where fest is. I'll be trying my best to make it. With or without my camaro. 99% of fest is hanging out with the people, for me.

I agree with Indiana being horrible, last time I went through Indiana going home(before the fest) I was dodging pot holes on I-70. Even caught one doing 70-75mph. Luckily on my way to the fest it seemed like they were fixing that horrible road. Never would have thought I-70 could be in such bad shape.

And that dedication is absolutely appreciated!

Reminds me of our enthusiasts from Canada that made it down to Georgia, or even Phoenix!!

Not having your car at Fest means you can drink more

True but I think a lot of people that had their cars there still figured they could drink more. Based on how many were sitting in the hotel parking lot saturday morning/afternoon anyways

I don't think I have ever read so much negative on a thread subject. I belong too a large club in N.Y. called Upstate C 5 We do a lot of high speed cruiseing in our group. We put are car on Watkins Glen track twice a year 35 too 43 of us at once never had a problem. The cost is $15.00 each 3 trips around the track Pace car in front and back no passing,no lagging back, just follow the rules. First time on track had car 65-70 thru curves 113mph on back stretch. I live in Syracuse N.Y. we have a lot of us coming to this fest this year. Are club conists of members in Canada,N.J.,Pa. Virginia,Maryland, Washington. I'm not saying were the best at it but we party dan HARDY and were good at it. I'm hoping to meet a lot of new friends there. And the driving and traffic don't bother me. 38 yrs. of driving over the road 49 states 41/2 million miles. I'm just glad these people put this fest together and not me. They just don't have enough tylenol for me. Our club went to BBOMG in Oshawa 2 yrs. ago. We had a hell of a great time.

While Phoenix is a bit further in distance (about 150 miles), the drive is about the same, (last year was actually longer because of the closed road we sat still in for two hours).

So unless its directly in TEXAS all these people complaining will never be happy unless its in Texas, thats what when you live in the biggest State and really south at that, anywhere else is always going to be a drive. This gets a well deserved . The Texas crew has probably been the largest single state supporter of every fest thus far, so there is obviously some frustration that it didn't come around here this year. I can assure you when it does it will be one of the most amazing fests ever. Despite some frustration in here, Texas has some of the nicest people on the planet, and we'll show you what Texas hospitality is all about.

BTW...I do think some of the posts are over the top, especially the ones bashing the mods. I don't envy their jobs, and appreciate them (even when I disagree). I consider them all friends (except that TAG guy).

No matter what your probably driving ten hours if it isn't held in San Antonio, Houston or Dallas. Hell Dallas to Houston is still a six hour plus drive. Actually it's about 3 1/2.
Corrected.

I'm
Although, I couldn't join my crew for the two first fests..due to my kids being still too young to leave for that long and the timing wasn't the best as they were in school at that time. I finally made it for this past Fest in Indiana. I was thrilled that I had FINALLY made it to one and was so HAPPY to have finally met so many of the friends I had met on C5 and Facebook. Truly..it was a blast for me !

So all I can say this time is..." SEE YOU ALL IN AUGUST " !!!

We had around 70 cars in our caravan when we hit El Paso. Here we are leaving Ft Stockton

As Tag said it was a smooth drive to a nice hotel with a dinner buffet setup around the pool. Very relaxed and even the trailered cars, like myself traveled w/ the caravan. None of this was possible going to Indy as we had 3 different caravans due to routes out of TX and roads/traffic.

We've had similar distances to all 3 fests and a 2 day drive which has actually been part of the fun. We spent the night at a couple of casinos and a night on Bourbon Street. So the caravan part can be a ton of fun too. Going to Indy we made a stop at the Corvette museum also.

Lord help me. If I get called out of bed at 4am again, I promise...the outcome of the situation will be different.

I hire security for a reason. We are supposed to be a GOOD group of people who are courteous to any and all. We mind our manners and take care of each other showing each other respect.

I'm not going to rehash what happened as it's not necessary. But I'm also going to mention the outcome could have been VERY different. I am a police officer. I know what can come of these situations.

It was mentioned several times by several people I should have made an example out of this person. I try to be nice. But nice only goes so far.

The only thing holding me back is getting my 1LE, but having one by august should be doable. I don't care where it is and will have fun on the way there and back. If my job won't give me the time off, I will be "sick".
