I got the bigger reservoir -- and my Mighty Mouse is in the place I thought would work.

Its a better reservoir than I had. That one you have looks good too...

Here is a youTube of the Roush Intercooler Reservoir in action:

If you go by what RedLine states for mix (about 3-4 caps per quart), with the speed of these pumps, it creates a lot of foam -- I found 2 caps total is just about the amount to use in this setup -- these varimax pumps MOVE the liquid fast so I want to avoid cavitation. I may go back to a 90/10 mix just for added protection. Right now, I change the coolant a couple of times a year, so I don't expect any major issues. BTW, RedLine suggests changing once a year -- I'm sure there is a reason for that.

I figured how to build my mount so that is the next item on the list.. Right now, its stable while I'm testing, but would not want to wait too long to build that one ;o)...

I would be curious about the temp data on this. She is right in the line of fire of the heat rising up off the header. Perhaps it won't matter, but let us know what you find.

Sure thing, but I did run it for an hour and no heating of the coolant occurred. I monitored the coolant temps right out of the tank using the AeroForce sender — I also have a heat shield on the bottom just in case.

I really won’t have hard numbers until it gets over 80 here...

Will keep track of that. I’ll take it for a good drive once temps get over 50 and watch the temps when at a light (header heat will be higher right after coming off the interstate).

Don’t think the tank will have any issues since the previous reservoir was also close to the headers.

Some of the older jack-screw SC units had the reservoir on the passenger’s side right over the header and those had no issues so, I figured I won’t either... well see!

So I started on the reservoir bracket. Created a cardboard template, cut out the base from ABS. Once that was done I created an aluminum brace as support. Here is what that looks like:

Now how it fits:

Location on the SC lid where it will bolt up to:

Little clean up, some bolts for fastening the tank, ready to rock!

So here is the bracket all bolted up:

Did exactly what I needed it to do -- fits perfect and using a coupling nut and washers (long ones), was able to bolt the reservoir and bracket together:

does not move and fits just where I needed it to!

Once the weather breaks (middle of the week should be in the 50s, Saturday/Sunday will be in the 60s!), I'll take it for a spin! The whole point of this is to test how long I can keep the IAT2 temps in check before I get diminishing returns -- so far, before I updated, I was able to do 20-25 minute sessions and did not have any issues with the IAT2 temps -- running Corn, the combustion temps are lowered quite a bit so IAT2 managed will really help maintain the power curve...

I know, if I were a serious road racer, I’d do something totally NA but, I just like doing things ‘differently’ ;o)

What’s the fun in doing the normal thing?

;o)

OK, did a video to show the actual 'heat' of the intercooler tank vs the Aeroforce gauge. You'll see in the video about a 12° to 15° higher reading on the Aeroforce gauge. I used a laser temp gun as well as my very accurate temp prob (had it for 30 years so its been proven to be right). You'll see that the tank coolant is within a degree or 2 of the sc lid. The SC Lid thermo reading from the laser is right on what the ECM reports for the intake air temps -- so I know I can rely on the Intake Air Temp on the Aeroforce -- just some detail on how things are working....

Decided to get the car inspected today -- just to make sure the 'permanent' code that has yet to clear, does not impact things.

Turns out, it does not. I verified the smog check in BlueDriver -- and it only had the 'evap' not ready, which in Texas is ok.

So no active MIL, MIL light validated, emissions tests ready -- got it done. Its due in March but, Texas allows you to get it up to 90 days before you need your tags -- so I figured get it over with -- now I'm good to go!

I also have Dave from DSX setting up another PCM for me as my backup. With me doing all kinds of testing and changes, if I brick this one, I have my backup -- don't want to be down and out if I screw things up ;o)
