Red Hot ZL1 finally...
10.17 build finally showed at Stingray in Tampa this week… red hot with PDR, Nav and Black Center Stripe. Not much seat time yet but a few observations compared to 5th Gen ZL1 – this car is tight, feels lighter and more refined. Steering and throttle response are noticeable different than even ‘16 2SS I have driven.
With all the A10 discussions I was getting concerned the M6 would be disappointing. Wow, clutch is light with a shorter pedal than my ’14. The shifter throw is short but could be shorter however it’s a smooth action day one. The gear ratios feel well matched, no matter the gear or rpm, the LT4 has plenty of torque. This is an easy car to drive even in traffic. My initial reaction is positive on the Goodyears, they are surprisingly quiet, ride and handle well, although I have not pushed them hard yet. The Recaro’s are much improved. They feel more supportive and comfortable than the 5th gen. I have them in my ATS V and was really anxious to compare – I like them both – the ZL1 may be the better seat even though it doesn’t have the adjustability the V has. Big plus for Florida is the ventilated seats in the ZL1. The wheels look much better in person, in fact pictures have a hard time capturing all the lines on this car, not much I would change on the exterior. My only negative is the exhaust is too quiet, maybe it will loosen up in time or I’ll go aftermarket.

Congrats on your purchase! In the pic with the vette, it seems to be sitting at what I consider to be a really good looking stance, with minimal distance between the splitter and ground. Nice menacing pose.

Congratulations on the new toy. I just took delivery of a garnet red one today from Cox in Bradenton. I agree that that the 17 is more refined than my 15 ZL1 was. I'm thorough impressed so far.

Sharp ride! Congrats! Nice writeup as well. So the exhaust is too quiet? Even in Track mode? Most comment on how loud it is. It definitely sounds good in the videos, but that's hard to really judge how one will sound in person.

Red hot is the color for sure on the ZL1. Looks great! Side note, I bought my 5th gen 1SS from good old stingray Chevrolet. Enjoy your new ride and all the compliments.
