The NW 102 is a nice looking piece. I laughed at the Weapon X comments. Yup, you send stuff, we review it and give honest comments here and elsewhere.... You may not like them but it is what it is... we ended up with a NW mechanical throttle body on mine... Very high quality pieces...

Yep...
NW is an amazing piece for sure -- I needed the ported SC to breath more so this only makes sense. My IAT2 temps are around 147° max when road racing so they are manged well but, more air may drop them. Overall, can't wait to test it out. My next event is CFest! Glad to see you're making great progress, we're all very glad and happy to see you perusing C5 again ;o) -Don

Wanted to show how I routed the 'vent' hose from the Wild setup:
Interested to see how this works out on a road course. I do have filters coming for this hose -- just in case ;o) -Don

Looks like Weapon-X updated their site!
https://weaponxmotorsports.com/produ...ant=1603063876 New Page: Older page: And the price -- good that they show the real product, better price, and the real condition... Looks like they used my pic too (glad I could help): -Don

Forgive me, I'm not super up on the blower stuff. What is the purpose and benefit of this hose and where does it vent to. You mention filters.... Is it pulling air or fluids or..... Now I'm going back a bunch of pages and reading to catch up...

This is a wild vent. When pressure builds in the engine, I wanted it to vent away from the headers (with the old setup, oil would vaporize and spray when I went into boost/heavy boost). The way this is setup, the vent will send any vapors to the main filter and not all over the engine/headers.
I also have S&B crank case filters for the vent hose as extra protection. When I road race (at elevated RPMs) it can spray oil vapors. This is a big vent so I expect a lot less oil making it past the catch can. Old school COPOs do this too... I capped the valve cover vents and only vent from the valley cover port to my mini catch can. The cap on the oil fill is the newer setup and all the oil/vapor is now trapped in the new larger port catch can. Instead of the filter on top, it now has a hose to route away from the engine... I have a video in a past post from David on this setup... -Don

Very cool, I have a similar vent if I understand you correctly, though mine is a dash 16 with a check valve at the end of the hose. Mine hooks into the top of the valley cover and is primarily used at very high rpm, when the dry sump can actually pull a vacuum in the crank case. This 1 psi check will open allowing fresh air into the crank case... Thinking about it, this is probably a completely different purpose.
Next item, have you ever seen this video. This guy is an engineer and tests things in his home shop. He does hand tools, bolts, washers etc.... Explains it very well and like all of us, makes mistakes occasionally and owns up to them. He tries really hard to be unbiased. I enjoy all of his videos... This is one he did on Nord Locks vs split lock washers. https://youtu.be/WbLS3rGtKDM Last item, this image is just plain sexy car porn, like "centerfold" material.....

Lol, it is porn (but leave me out of it... I'm not porn material) !
I'll ck those videos out... Guys who put themselves out there I totally respect. Here is the thread on the cc setup: https://www.camaro5.com/forums/showp...postcount=2034 Can't wait to see you behind the wheel again breakin speed records.. -Don

Thanks Don... It'll be a while yet....
I forgot to mention, the guy is eastern canadian, and has funny ways of saying some words... It takes a bit of getting used to.... Vajao is video... you'll hear a few others as the video progresses.... There is such a following of this guy that there is actually an online dictionary of his terms...The following didn't copy properly but the word he uses is first, and the actual meaning is second... Some are funny, some are eastern canadian and some are just well.... you'll figure it out... This guy actually did two videos where he very possibly determined the reason for the collapse of the walk way bridge in florida. The first video he surmised the cause and in the second he retracted it and gave his more in depth thoughts.... He has quite the following on youtube and other outlets.... So, essentially your wild bypass or increased flow capacity recirculating system does essentially the same thing my system does but in the opposite direction.... You are building up crank case pressure due to over loading the catch can. The wild set up if I understand it correctly allows an alternate flow path for the same gasses without fully defeating the purpose of the catch can...
In my case, the dry sump scavenges the crank case so completely at high rpm that I pull a vacuum... This inlet hose to the lifter valley cover with the 1 psi check valve opens in that event to allow fresh air into the crankcase. Some of this air is pulled into the dry sump and pumped to the reservoir tank. At that point it is spun out and vented off. I have piping and hose that runs from the dry sump tank vent to the wheel well behind the left rear quarter panel... We also have a catch can in this piping that catches the liquid and only the vapors are expelled. It keeps the vapors from accumulating inside the car while it's running... Image 1 is the catch can for the dry sump tank vent. This was the very quick version I installed the night before the mile on a dyno tuning session when Corey could no longer breathe.... The second photo shows the vent hose, and check valve for the crank case aeration when pulling a vacuum at very high rpm and high boost....It's right up against the left side shock tower... There is a compound pressure/vacuum gauge and the check valve is within the black housing at the distal end of the hose. It's an aluminum housing and we check this often for proper operation.

Bingo, I’m building up crank case pressure due to the increase of boost. The cc will operate as normal under typical drive conditions but, under boost, will give a path for the excess preassure to release while still allowing the catch can to catch any oil vapors/mist. Adding the filter at the end of the pressure release hose is for extra protection.
Yours is certainly a different scenario as well as a different purpose. Cool pics BTW! Like the coil reloc... I may want to vent to the rear like you have! Ah, garage talk ;o) -Don

I also read several times in your thread mentioning the 260-270 degree oil temps.... Have you considered a remote oil cooler and the relocation kit. We got the adapter from Lingenfelter, made some -8 hoses and got a remote cooler from Setrab. I built a bracket and mounted it horizontally under the radiator. There is a shroud that forces air into the cooler.... My oil temps even with a half filled block and my power levels never exceeds 225 degrees or so, and usually it's cooler than that, especially if I'm moving down the highway..... I'll have to go find the pictures in my build thread as I don't have them on this laptop.... I did find one and will look for the others.... Ok, so I found the others....

I do have a secondary cooler (Mishimoto oil filter sandwich) but it may not be big enough — also, tstat controlled. I’ve debated on where I can fit a bigger one but, it’s on the ‘figure it out’ list ;o)... it never ends. All the other temps are in ck, just have to get this one figured out... in cooler temps and shifting at 5800 RPMs, never gets over 245°...
