Northern VA SC Install Help

I really want to do this myself but not sure I'd be able to pull it off. I have virtually no experience under the hood, where it counts.

Anyone with experience interested in a beer for help trade off lol?

That's a tough job there friend. A whole lot involved installing a supercharger. I had Cooper Corvettes in Dumfries do install of an Eldelbrock (E-force) on my Vette. I know they would work with the Camaros too. Good luck.

Got a fairly good deal worked out with a local shop. Well actually it's a very good deal, I'm just broke so, you know...

I'd still rather "DIY" the whole thing....anyone?

I grew up with a wrench in my hand ... but that was with the old school engines. Even though I did install the stuff on my car myself. But if I had the space, tools and a good size garage and a kitchen pass (LOL) , I know I could install it. As for tuning....thats waaaayyy outta my league

Wassup man!!

Would you mind sharing which shop you're looking at in N. VA? I'm looking at adding the IPF SC and, like you, am not adept at the under-hood work. You can PM me if you like. Would appreciate knowing where some good shops are in Alexandria, Fairfax, Falls Church, Vienna, Lorton / Woodbrige areas.

Baltimorejohn1! I remember you from a Camaro meet a couple of years ago. Thanks for responding.

Thanks for responding and your offer, Fans96ss.

Yesterday, I found a shop in my backyard (they did work on Victor's SLP) and they'll tackle it when I'm ready. They'll work with the manufacturer / seller to get the kit shipped directly to them. I'm going to wait for my bumper to bumper to be up this summer. Then I'll take the plunge.

I'm going to keep the 2LT a real "sleeper" in a plain-Jane white wrapper. No stripes, no badging, no nothing. Just what's under the hood.

You've got a fairly descent list of mods, who did that work? This could be a tough learning curve if you haven't done it before. Not sure there are a whole lot of folks on te area that can jus casually throw on a sc.

Hey how you been?
American High Performance huh? LOL
They do a fair amount of superchargers

But most of Victors work was done out of North Carolina other than SLP with his brother and American High Performance did some work as well
I do know they work on that Shelby 1000 and many others with good success especially installs

They get a lot of supercharger business
One of the few to slap Kenne Bell on and they are a SLP approved shop
They worked on Luke to

If that is who you are talking about

Thank you. I haven't fnalized anything, yet. Just doing research but am leaning toward the local shop, preliminarily. Still a ways to go to before I commit. Will keep you in mind, however, as I see you've posted in the "Forced Induction" forum.

You nailed it on the nose. They're within 15 min. of the house and it's nice to have a shop close by, especially if they've done the install, if an adjustment or fix is required. I actually suggested AHP to Luke (if that's who I think it is) in one of the threads last year when he was looking for a shop in our area. Now that my btb is almost up, it's worth the risk to me.

Going to a SC just makes way more financial sense then trading "up" to an SS. The approx. difference between trade-in / sale value and the cost of a new SS is "prohibitive", IMO.

You know they feature Victor's SLP on their GM page? That's an intimidating and even frightening piece of American-made machinery.
