Stock stereo EQ

Anyone have some good EQ settings for the stock stereo (not the upgraded Boston Acoustics)? I mainly listen to rock. I've got the bass boosted a bit, and it seems like fading to the rear speakers helps. Any tips? Thx!

I listen to rock too and I roll with this... 12treble 4mid 7 or 8 bass.

Opps, I got the Boston Acoustics though... Get your treble and mids good then add bass accordingly and/or mess with the Fade to the front or rear.. mine is even

No way man!

Start with everything at zero. Bump the treble up or down a few "notches"
then go to the bass and do the same. Then the mid. You should end up just a few notches above or below zero on all settings. If you end up with more than +/- 4 on any, you're probably over driving or over MODULATING the system.

Start with everything at zero and take SMALL steps. Listen to the system, with some of your favorite music, your eyes closed and the seat kicked back. Really loose yourself in the sound and put the levels where they soud good TO YOU!

I know I said if you're greater than +/- 4 you're probably "over modulating the system" but, just do whatever sounds good to YOU!

listen to it FLAT for best sound, usually. Ensure that your recordings are high bit rates and you should be most accurate at flat. If required, you could use the typical "loudness" template and boost bass 3 clicks up, treble 4 and mid down 2. This should squeeze the most from substandard setups and recordings.

Best 2 all,
eB

i don't like to go too overboard with the EQ either, but even +4 on the bass doesn't seem to do much. Then again, I used to have a 650 watt Rockford Fosgate with a 10" sub.

I use different settings for different sources. For the radio I use:

5
-4
9

Cutting the midrange gives more dynamic range. Previous advice of closing your eyes and really listen helps (add beer as necessary).

VERY WELL SAID....

Try to bump up just a little or put down(best way to do it without cracking your loudspeakrs)

Dont PUT too much dbs, try to equalize getting off what kinda of frequency you may have too much...its the best way...the best way is getting off and then turn the Volume up and

Get a small aftermarket sub if you are boosting the bass over the half way point. Bass is what kills your speakers quicker then anything.

I agree, CDs are slightly different than the radio. even different radio stations sound better with different settings... but overall this is pretty much like mine, except I run bass at 10.

for rock your eq should look like a "V", mid is usually flat +/- 1 OR 2 , bass and treb to your listening pref...IMO

These settings work for me:

Treb = 5

Mid = 6

Bass = 4

Fader = 0 or -1

I like the sound of my BA system at these settings better than at any other settings I've tried so far...will keep experimenting, but this combo works best for me. I like rock, but not the real-hard driving stuff. Also like country, pop, alternative, instrumental...just no opera or "Scream-o" for me!
