Brake Rotor Recommendation
I'm stuck between R1 Concept's Geomet kits and PowerStop's kit. I've read good and bad things about both and don't know which to go with. I was leaning towards the drilled/slotted look but might just go with slotted. I don't track so I won't need the best performance options, I just do occasional hard driving. I know Hawk's pads are great and will give them a try if the pads from either company get noisy.

We have had a lot of success with Hawk pads and DBA rotors.

I have had great luck with the StopTech slotted rotors and StopTech “Sport” brake pads on our 2010 Camaro SS. I use this combo for track duty and street duty and it holds up well and is dependable/reliable.

I have the powerstop z23 for about 1.5 years. Here are my opinions.
Pros: Good stopping power - not sure if better then OEM though Looks great - better then OEM Less expensive then OEM Cons: Loud - sounds like wind blowing thru a pipe extremely dusty - more dusty then OEM Less life - approx half the life of OEM Once my powerstop rotors are at end-of-life, I will be putting on SS calipers and getting SS OEM rotors and pads. |
