Yes, another tire size question

Sorry if this has been asked before.. I cant use the search feature and other certiain aspects of this site while on my company Wifi. Im ordering tires. I just want to double check my height differences before I order to make sure I don't have stabilitrak issues.

Im ordering 295/40/20 for the rear which is 29.3" overall I believe.
I want to order 275/40/20 for the front which is 28.7 overall I believe.
Is .6" difference between the front and back ok?

I think it will cause issues as the 275/40/20 tire will make 704 revolutions per mile and the 295/40 will make 689 revolutions per mile. Why not run 315/35/20 in the rear as they have the same diameter as the 275/40/20.

So heres the thing. I have the 295/40s already pretty much. a buddy ordered them, then totaled his car so I bought them off him pretty cheap. So what size fronts can I run? The fronts are 20 x 9

So. I never thought of the RPM on the tire. But I looked up stock ZL1 sizes, and they are off by 14rpm, my sizes are off by 15rpm... Also, the difference in stock ZL1 is .5 inches, im looking at a .6 difference

Tire size calculator.com take a look at this site. It will give you all the info you need. But I would wait a few and see if someone that has that set up chimes in. I run 275/40/20 in front and 315/35/20 in the rear. No issues at all

I believe you would have to run 265/45. I would check a tire size calculator to see what runs similar to your stock tires or to your 295s. Just know the speedometer will say youre going about 1-2 mph less than what you're actually going.

I INSTALLED NEW RIMS AND TIRES ON MY ZL1. 28.0”F-28.8”R=2.8% ACTUAL TIRE MEASURMENTS WITH NO LIGHTS OR PROBLEMS.
YOU ARE 28.66”F-29.29”R=2.2% PER TACOMAWORLD.COM TIRE SIZE CALCULATOR. JUDGING BY MY CAMARO I WOULD BELIEVE YOU ARE OK.
I ORDERED M/T ET STREETS 305/35/20 AND DID NOT REALIZE THAT THEY WERE TALLER THAN A STANDARD TIRE, I WAS AFRAID I WAS GOING TO HAVE PROBLEMS BUT DID NOT.

The issue with going 265/45 is that will make my front tire .2 taller than the rear.. definitely don't want that.

I think I follow what you are saying ( even in all caps lol ). I believe I am fine as well as im so close to the difference zl1s have from the factory but im still trying to find online what the tolerances are but my company wifi limits a lot of what I can look up ( I guess they want me to work or something ).

I READ ALL CAPS BETTER. I SAW ONE POST THAT CLAIMED THAT UP AROUND 5 OR 6 PERCENT IS WHERE THE PROBLEMS START.
DO YOU WANT “AS WIDE AS POSSIBLE” TIRE ON FRONT ?, IF NOT YOU COULD GO WITH A DIFFERENT SIZE.

You should be fine, I'm running the same sizes minus height: 275/35 up front, 295/35 rear with no issues.
