I've had the Barton and the MGW. I really liked the Barton, but I love the MGW. The install on the MGW is more involved since it replaces the entire assembly. The Barton has shorter throws and is notchy when going into gears. The MGW has a bit longer throw, but is smoother going into the gears. I ordered a custom shift knob from speeddawg.com. There's an option to have them add a button on any of the knobs.

I've had hurst and MGW. The hurst was garbage. Very noisy, notchy, but the throws were short and the install was super easy.

The MGW I replaced it with is better in every way. I've spent a ton of money on my car, and it is still my favorite mod as far as how it drives in any condition. It is something you appreciate even when just driving it around town at slow speeds!

I've driven a 10 with a Barton, and it felt really good also, but the MGW still has it beat in quality/feel.

Try to find people from your local car club to let you try each one (even if it's sitting still and just rowing through the gears). A shifter is one of those mods that not everyone will like the same thing, so it's best to try them for yourself. IMHO the MGW wins hands down

Also went from Hurst to MGW. Very happy with MGW and you can Line Lock virtually any shifter as long as it has a removable ball. Another option is finger button on the shift lever which also works well.

I had a very notchy transmission. Went from stock shifter to a Hurst but notchiness was still there and the white shift knob would vibrate at high revs. Switched out the M6 trans fluid to synthetic Redline and still had some notchiness but was better. My next step was switching out the Hurst to a MGW and almost all of the notchiness is gone.

Just got the modified clutch master cylinder from Ideal garage and a braided stainless steel clutch hose from Tick to go along with some synthetic clutch fluid to put on one day soon and that should take care of the rest of any residual noticiness.

So from my experience MGW is an awesome shifter.
