I can already see index is not right for this crowd. We mod our cars and everyone is proud of the category they mod to so I've eliminated that and adjusted the classes so they read like last year. These were just put up quickly to get discussions going thanks to my buddy TPower..

Don't get too wrapped up (or scared) of the shop cars. We need to see who is actually coming before that is addressed.

New Classes are posted and old stuff was deleted from posts so it doesn't get confusing.
Im guessing this is going to cost me a bunch of Canadian Beer for mlee

STOCK V8: Any V8 5th-gen Camaro. CAI and/or Catback only, are allowed. No Headers, tune, engine, brake, or suspension modifications. No under 200-treadwear tires or drag radials.

MODIFIED: Any naturally-aspirated street-licensed 5th-gen Camaro (no nitrous)

M6 STREET TIRES: Any manual transmission 5th-gen Camaro on street tires

ZL1 UNLIMITED: Any ZL1 Camaro

SUPER-MODIFIED: Any force-inducted IRS 5th-gen Camaro. Unlimited modifications. Any driver.

UNLIMITED: Gen 1-4, Drag Car or non-IRS 5th Gen, Any driver

C7 Stingray: Unlimited C7 Corvette
These changes probably do fit the crowd better. Supermod here I come...lol...won't be hugely competitive, but hey...it's the experience and for fun!

Honest question though, why not just hit the easy button and make the classes just like our fast lists? Men from the boys type shoutout. The DA will change everyone's times but we get to see the guys in the ladder that show up truly run against each other.

While that would be great and make it feel very much like a Camaro5 specific event, that would be 13 V8 classes, 3 V6 classes plus bracket and exhibition classes. That would be a lot to keep track of and make tech difficult for the track personnel.

^^^Thank you for that. Try and explain to a tech guy with 100 cars lined up at his station how our fast lists work. I literally have to stand in the tech line and tell them classes as it is.

Something that would be cool is announcing cars that have moved up a certain fast list. Posting up some big printouts or something and highlighting cars that are in attendance.

Not to mention some may want to class and bracket race. I can dial in my boost to to hit 11.0x pretty consistently, but in a fast list class I would want to go all out and get as close to 10.5 as I could. How are they going to tech multiple cars that are doing the same thing?

holy crap...didn't realize that was 13 v8 classes. my bad...I was thinking the 11 v8 classes listed but we could narrow it tighter combining drag radial and slicks, dropping the 1LE classes and maybe combine all the street tire guys. Yes it would require a moderator there constantly...maybe have him grab a few guys to help tech folks. I would volunteer to help when I'm not running if you want...but you really need guys helping that aren't in line.

Sorry, this was same as the past 3 years. It's really meant to make sure the 13 sec and up cars can get in on some competitive fun. The fest has a lot of brand new race drivers and the intent of brackets is to ensure they participate too.

I cant spend the money to race unlimited, 8sec cars vs my 11sec car isn't truly a competition. I was planning on bringing quite a few friends who have older cars for bracket, couldn't there be a change on that to give it just some diversity+car count? Or dare I go out on a limb and say add a gen 1-4 bracket?

Remember guys, this is not a NHRA event. The purpose is to give Camaro fans a chance to gather and have some fun. If you sole purpose is to come for a trophy then you are going to miss out on a lot.

I know its for fun, id just like to be able to run brackets instead of heads up with cars that much much faster than mine. Just to name a couple that wanted to come to this event, my little brother has a 91 Camaro maybe a 12sec car, and 2 friends are wanting to go one with a 94 firebird and the other with a 74 Camaro. both maybe low 13sec cars. They wouldn't stand a chance in unlimited.
