gpi stage 1 vvt idle at

Hey everyone, I have a question about where everyone is having there idle set to after a cam is done, my first tune it was set at about 675, the chop was awesome, Had a new tune done by new shop and now the idle is at 800 not as much chop now but the car is smooth and runs awesome, I miss the chop

It’s a stage one so it shouldn’t chop much and around 800 seems right for it. Most people here with bigger cams have there’s set at 1,000

Mine is a SS2 and it's set at 800 and it chops pretty hard. However they should be able to dial it down when in Park and Nutral if you want it to chop a bit more. Especially if you're not out racing folks.

Mine idles closer to 1K when 8n drive. I am an auto tho not sure what you can do with a manual....

You can also add and take away chop in the tune. I can make a stock cam chop by messing with the timing. Just wanted to point out that it is not always about idle rpm or the physical cam specs that affect chop.

I've been messing around with my tune and have mine set to 750 rpm when fully warmed up and that's with the SS1 vvt cam from GPI. I have a pretty big chop but my tuner set it up that way.
