[Comment From JCamaro:]
Does the hood have functional air intake or just another fake "mail slot"?

John Fitz - Camaro Marketing Mgr:
JCamaro - the hood features functional air extractors...

I had to make sure I hadn't seen the photos from the live event yet to know that they were in fact open vents on the hood. When the forums were back up after the chat, I finally got to see them.

Any chance the z28 would get a high revving 5.5 DI V8 from the c7 vette?

i know i am trying to read between the lines (i watched the whole 'chat' live), but i think they might have a 302 planned for the z28. kind of taking it back to its roots, as it were.

No comment on the Z28 then? The Z28 was brought out to battle the Boss Mustang back in the Trans Am days.

John Fitz - Camaro Marketing Mgr:
KentWatkins.. I think it is very interesting to note that history of the Z28 and its comparison to Boss 302...

That would be fine with me. I also hope that translates into a more affordable performance package.

Me too. I'm sure they didn't read all of them though.

And to think, they could have answered my tire question.

Ya, I noticed it, but I just took it as him backing up his defending the naming of the new ZL1.

I see some of the usual historical mis-information made it into the chat yesterday:
"[Comment From KentWatkins KentWatkins: ]

When the Z/28 was brought out there was no Boss 302, Ford was still racing the 289cid engine. Then Ford came out with their Tunnel Port 302 Trans Am engine for the '68 Trans Am season and it was a failure. It was then that the Boss 302 was brought out.

My local tuner has gotten over 600rwhp from the CTS-V's he's worked on from those exact mods.

This exchange was EXTREMELY revealing:
