Boost Gauge reading is off

I just installed a boost gauge and I don’t think it is reading properly. It drops below zero when driving all the way down to 20 and 10. When I get on it the gauge barely goes to 0. What’s up?

Are you tapped into the right location? it sounds like you have a vacuum line.

Could be. My Hobbs, fuel regulator and gauge all are off a line on the boost actuator on the front of the blower.

Mine was always off. I went to an Aeroforce to read through the OBD2 since I had a 3 bar map and never looked back.

I already have my AFR plugged into the OBD. I looked at AEM’s boost gauge it has a pigtail but not sure what it plugs into

I did some re-routing of the boost lines today. I had a T on the hose that runs the boost actuator. The line is now right off of the stem that comes off of the blower right behind the actuator. No change in the reason on the glow shift boost gauge. Considering an AEM boost gauge.

Mine read the same while driving down the road but when I'm into it the boost goes to 7 which is where mine should be. I think my gauge is right and it's like it should be.

My gauge never goes above 0. When I have my HP logging I see that I go into boost and my tuner says my blower is working. Before I sped $180 on a boost gauge I want to make sure I have it set up right. This gauge hasn’t gone above 0 not once, I was at about 5,000 rpms in 2cd gear getting on the highway and it barely got to 0. I’m pretty sure I was around 7-10 psi at that moment.

Still sounds like a vacuum line. Do you have pics of where everything is tapped in and T off?

I'm not as familiar with the LSA blower, but on the whipple, the actuator is vacuum operated ( before the rotors). I tapped my boost gauge from the plenum under the rotors.

Here are pics of my setup. First 2 pics show my lines coming off of the blower. The upper stem is the line that runs to the regulator, Hobbs and boost gauge. The lower stem runs to the front upper inlet of the actuator. I have the lower inlet on the actuator is capped off. I noticed on the pics of the CTS V and pics I have seen on ZL1 there is a whole other sensor below the actuator that I don’t have. Please help me sort this out.

Mine is tapped into the brake booster line. It was near perfect with the dyno. It's an AEM boost gauge. The glowshift are known to be slightly less accurate. You should be seeing boost psi once you are in it. Reading zero is likely from connected wrong spot.

I have to agree that it looks like you are tapped into the correct location.

Have you been able to confirm that the Hobbs switch is actually seeing boost and working and that the fuel pressure is holding steady?

Is it possible that the FPR or one of the fittings is bleeding off boost pressure?

Is it possible the bypass valve is not closing and you aren't actually getting into boost?

Process of elimination would say the gauge may be bad but it seems odd that the vacuum reading works but the boost doesn't.
