Whine Through Speakers on Coasting

Well, I'm coming here for advice. I've already taken my car to the dealer and they really don't seem interested in fixing it (more on that later). Anyways, I'm getting an audible yet faint whine (kind of like your ears are ringing) through the speakers whenever I let off the gas and start coasting. If I mute my radio, the whine goes away. However, sometimes with the stereo muted I hear the whine coming from my engine on the driver side (same side as the alternator). I have a feeling my issue is with the alternator, however, the dealer pretty much said they could not locate the source of the whine and submitted a claim to GM because there were no TSB's out there to fix it. I found a radio whine for other Chevy models of the same year but he said that it was not for the Camaro and therefore could not be performed.

Additionally, if I turn my stereo on any input and have no music going to it, I can hear a slight bit of static. It's not as obvious/loud as the whine but there is static present.

I currently have a Vararam CAI and Vmax TB installed. Of course the dealer blamed the Vararam, but I had told him the issue wasn't present after it was installed (which is accurate). I did notice the whine a few weeks after the TB was installed however. It may have been present after or before or not at all, I am really not sure. I don't think the TB is too blame though.

Finally, I do hear a little bit of whine around my steering wheel. I opened the hood and can hear a similar whine around the area of the alternator but can't tell for sure if it's the alternator or another part of the engine.

When parked and revving the engine I can not replicate the whine on deceleration of the engine.

As you can tell I have been trying to trouble shoot the issue fairly thoroughly. Can I get your guys input on what you may think the culprit may be? Any additional advice on trying to convince the dealer to look at my alternator?

Thanks!

Oooooooh, there was actually a post earlier today regarding another issue, but had a link to the GM Technician blog, was reading an issue and found a thing about this! I'll try to find the link!

Thanks guys! I didn't even think about those things. I'll check them and see if I can figure out if it's one of the above.

Ok, so I was cleaning my car and turned the key just to have power. I had the hood open and I could here constant ringing. Decided to take a quick video to show you all the sound. I doubt this is normal for other Camaro's but if somebody could check there's that would be much appreciated. Video is below:

FanDamNCSU,

Sorry to hear of your concerns with the noise. I'm sure that's displeasing for you and I'd be happy to explore these matters further if you send me a private message. Thanks and I look forward to your contact.
