275s on front stockers?

Hi all,
I've been reading around on the site and still have not been able to find some good pics of 275 width tires on stock front rims. I've seen all the warnings about width of tire vs. width of rim but am curious to see what it looks like on the car. I know somebody has done this so please post up some pics. I would love to see some 275 Continental Extreme Contact DWSs on the front stock rims but any brand will do for I suspect the visual should be close to the same. Also, have you had any issues with that wheel/tire combo? Noticed any uneven wear? difference in cornering better, worse, or no differnce for daily driving? What pressure are you running? Thanks for taking the time to post pics and answering the questions!!!

I saw mtcwby's Camaro a couple of weekends ago and he has 275s on his stock front wheels. They look excellent! I'm definately doing it to my car. They have just the right amount of tire sticking out to protect the rim without being excessive. I was surprised at how great they look and he said they ride great too!
Sorry, I have no pics yet...

Yeah, I've been after him to post some new closeup pics of the front but no luck yet. His pics I've seen so far in this forum show the car from the rear angle and you can't get a real good look at the front wheels. Hopefully in his spare time he will snap a few photos and post them up...(cough) hint! (cough) hint!...

Well ChopSS, just know there is no lifeguard on duty so you swim at your own risk. There are plenty of posts from very reliable sources that warn against it and even provide a chart with tire size recommendations (See "sticky" thread by Nine Ball on this subject in this forum). I just wanted to throw this disclaimer out there just in case. I'm still on the fence myself until I can see for myself so hopefully some folks out there will post up some good detailed pics and detailed accounts of issues and/or success. I have heard that 275s won't rub when the wheels are turned all the way in either direction. I also understand about the contact patch on the pavement being a possible issue due to the slight bulging of the sidewall caused by with 275 width on 8.0 inch rim. That's the part I want to see is how excessive OR NOT the bulge is with that combo. Cheers!

I would go 265 on the front 8"s and 295 on the rear 9"s.

What about just picking up 2 rear 20x9 with the same size rear tires and run that up front? That way you have the same size all the way around. Considering the new ZL1 will have 20x10 up front with a bigger tire then we have on the rear now, what would be the problem?

305s.
They were right at the limit of what I would try. They looked good.

Nice! So that is 275 on the 20x8 and then 305 on 20x9?

I actually like the slight bulge to give just a little protection from curb rash.

I'm thinking about buy some 20x9 to go on front. That way I can rotate tires to increase tire life....plus look a little better. Then I was going to take the 20x8 and put some 275 drag radials on them. Of course all I get about that is that the 275 is to wide for 20x8.

So...then the thought comes, what if I put 20x9 with 305 on all four corners.
