I'm not worried about where the factory fill level is in relation to the pan rail, I'm wondering where the dipstick full mark is in relation to the pan rail. I understand that it is higher than factory, just wondering where it is exactly.

The factory fill level is actually 0.637" below the top of the pan rail. I measured it. The ruler in this pic is 1.007" wide.

About a 1/4 inch higher than the edge of the check hole, I believe the very tip of the dip stick contacts the bottom of the pan too. The inside of the dip stick tube I received was surface rusted very bad. I took pieces of rags with oil on them to clean it all off, it was quite a bit.

Just bumping this up to see if Jannetty can answer this question...

I just got mine delivered yesterday, going to install it this weekend with a pan drop and filter change.

Is the dipstick supposed to be completely straight? It looks like the end of the stick got bent a few times in shipping. It doesn't have that typical transmission dipstick S curve, but a few kinks in it and it's VERY hard to pull in and out of the tube while holding it in my hands.

Did the install yesterday, as well as a pan drop and filter change. On my back on jackstands, this wasn't an easy job. It probably took me a good 4 hours to do everything.

I don't know if it's just me, but getting that tube aligned and in, and that bolt on the bell housing, it wasn't that easy.

But now that it's done, it's so much nicer to do a pan drop and fluid fill.

I remember when I did mine along with the cooler, it too caused me to use every curse word known plus a couple made up ones but then I pushed the harness out of the way and it dropped right in. The dipstick did take me under 30 minutes to do though although I though it would only take 5 and I almost ripped my side mirror off with my shoulder one of the times I was getting up. Now that I'm thinking I believe the oil dipstick took me more time to install the first time after the long tubes 🤔

Ted do you have dipsticks in stock right now? Kris can send me one if they are available. It appears parts supply has slowed due to the strike...

Thank you for your order,

Yes Best time to do it.

It hugs the engine so it will not hinder install.

Get yours today people!

If you don't have one your missing out on the pure simplicity of checking and filling plus adjusted level so no sucking air on launches.

The 6L80E is much happier when full.
