If you buy a V6 with a manual the window sticker will have 1 MPG less on the sheet at 28 MPG HWY versus if you bought the V6 with an auto trans 29 MPG HWY.

This is incorrect. The difference between the 1LS and 2LS is precisely the transmission. You can't get a 1LS auto, nor can you get a 2LS manual. They don't exist. Not only that, but the gearing for the 2LS is not the same as the other V6s (plus no tapshift/sport mode). See below, and my previously posted link, directly from Chevy.

2LS gearing is 2.92:1, vs the 3.27:1 of the other V6s.

Part of the problem is they don't "promote" it at all, in fact many of their dealers don't know or tell customers about the differences, and people find out after the fact that their 2LS is different than other V6s.

This, and I think that it helps their CAFE numbers.

Well, I learned my lesson and I now have what I really should have bought the last time. Only mods are fog lamps, a catch can that I have to put on, and fuzzy dice. I love every minute of my drive time now and I am not nearly as stressed out when I do get home.
If you love the Camaro then you already know what your answer is before you posted. Enjoy the ride!
^This. I commute 60 miles a day to and from work and I want it to be a comfortable and fun drive and drive something I actually look forward to driving. I had a Ford Fusion on loan once when my Ford truck was in the shop and thought I'd utilize it and put miles on it instead of my Camaro and I was totally miserable driving it. I wound up letting the Fusion sit and took my Camaro anyway. Same goes when I used to drive beaters. My favorite vehicle to drive is what goes to work with me. Why be miserable driving to and from work and have a nice vehicle you actually enjoy to be in and drive sit home and never move? Doesn't make sense to me.... Kinda like buying a top of the line bed but spending most of your time sleeping on a cheap futon uncomfortable because you want to save the bed....

The V6 manual is fun car to drive and the stock exhaust actually sounds pretty good inside the car (but not outside).

For the number of miles you drive, I would NOT get the RS package, so you can rotate the tires.

I would definitely get a 2LT for the creature comforts.

I drove a 2011 2LT/RS M6 for one year and it consistently got 28mpg highway.

2LS also has open differential instead the "positraction" in the 1LS

Unfortunately it's the same with the automatic in the LT trim levels.

True, I should have specified it goes with the transmission, not always trim.

I would not put 50k miles a year on a Camaro. Unless you are paying cash, you are going to have a pretty used up car well before it is paid off. IMO.

I bet buddy!!! How are you? Time to put a stop into driving a car with no power and that makes you fall asleep
It will be a few more bucks but I love the 2LT V6 and that's where I'm heading

Gas is irrelevant.. I get worse milage than some v8's and I drive moderatly. that engine lugging around that huge car...
if you want power and a v8, go for the automatic.. it has Active fuel managment. will definatly save some gas..
If you want a v8, BUY A V8.

As much as it pains me to say don't buy a Camaro, I'm going to have to say "don't buy a Camaro".

I don't think it would be a good car for your situation at all.
