And: 2LS has no Tapshift or Sport Mode. 2LS gearing is 2.92:1, vs the 3.27:1 of the other V6s.

This, and I think that it helps their CAFE numbers.

The V6 manual is fun car to drive and the stock exhaust actually sounds pretty good inside the car (but not outside).
For the number of miles you drive, I would NOT get the RS package, so you can rotate the tires. I would definitely get a 2LT for the creature comforts. I drove a 2011 2LT/RS M6 for one year and it consistently got 28mpg highway.

Unfortunately it's the same with the automatic in the LT trim levels.

True, I should have specified it goes with the transmission, not always trim.

I would not put 50k miles a year on a Camaro. Unless you are paying cash, you are going to have a pretty used up car well before it is paid off. IMO.

Gas is irrelevant.. I get worse milage than some v8's and I drive moderatly. that engine lugging around that huge car...
if you want power and a v8, go for the automatic.. it has Active fuel managment. will definatly save some gas.. If you want a v8, BUY A V8.

As much as it pains me to say don't buy a Camaro, I'm going to have to say "don't buy a Camaro".
I don't think it would be a good car for your situation at all. |
