I've heard that HID headlights can flicker when in DRL mode because of the lower voltage used to power the stock DRL headlights.

On another note, I received my Eagle Eyes headlights in the mail earlier this week (from Xtralights.com), and made sure everything worked before installing them. I got them installed yesterday evening but as soon as I connected power, the right halo was no longer working. I got behind the headlight assembly today and connected power directly to the two halo wires, but still nothing. The connectors inside the headlight assembly look fine (at least from what I can see). I disconnected power to my left halo so that my headlights don't look mismatched. While I'm waiting for a response from Xtralights, has anyone heard of this happening? I checked resistance across the halo wires on both headlights, and the right halo is showing a higher amount of resistance.

First off, thanks to jdwarren for starting this thread.
Well, after having an issue with one of the Eagle Eyes headlights I ordered having a faulty halo and then one of the "100% water/weather proof" HID kits that I ordered with the headlights going bad when it got water in one of the connectors, I decided to return those headlights for a refund. I followed jdwarren's lead and threw down the money for a set of OEM RS headlights and the Non-RS to RS harness #2 (both from www.gen5diy.com). I got everything installed yesterday afternoon, and I'm loving the new look.

Here are my RS headlights with just the halos on

and here are my RS headlights fully on with my Gen5 DIY non-switched fog lights and my switchback LED turn signals from iJDMtoy.com

I've removed and reinstalled my front bumper more times in the past month than I care to count with the headlight issues I've had; it's really not that difficult. Check out this thread for some really great bumper removal videos: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=112831

Alright so anyone know if this is the same for a 14? I'm ready to bite the bullet but I'm still trying to see if there are any other parts necessary...... Do I have to change my grill?

Works just the same way, no new grill necessary. I did the same thing to mine last year.

This helped me out so much! Just installed mine this afternoon! Took me about 3 hours to get everything done. Just a quick question if anyone can answer this for me that has done this, where did you route the wire coming out of the fuse box? I don't wanna close it on the wire and pinch it.

Can I use the harness with hid fogs? I wanted the 3000k fog lights with the halos and fogs on during the day so I guess it would be connected to the parking lamp? What I mean is will the headlight harness function without an issue if I wanted to add hids to my foglamps.

INCREDIBLY helpful! Gen5DIY didn't have instructions so I appreciate you taking the time to set this up.

Do you still need the harness in order for the rs lights to still work? I’m okay with the normal function.

Why can’t you locate the halo wire and connect that to the DRL? By doing it this way will it throw some type of code or cause the headlamp fuse to pop? I’ve seen some of the eBay versions that operate in that manner. I was wondering why it couldn’t be done the same way for the factory rs ones *♂️

Great DIY overall.
